For details on how to search for specific information in any of my Guides using the most popular web browsers, please visit: http://harvestmoonforever.blogspot.com/2010/02/internet-shortcuts-tofind-information.html You can find my 2nd Year Events Calendar Guide at: Hero of Leaf Valley 2nd Year Events Calendar Guide http://faqs.ign.com/articles/109/1090010p1.html Introduction Some guides separate the different Story Quests in Hero of Leaf Valley. I feel that is counter-productive for a couple of reasons. The first reason it is inadvisable is because many of the Story Quests are linked and if viewed in isolation, will prevent you from comprehending the pattern fully. The second reason is that more than one Event often can occur on the same day. If you are viewing each Story Quest separately, you will be unable to plan your movements properly to include as many Events as possible. These Events Guides therefore are organised primarily by Date rather than Story Quest. When an Event can occur within a time frame that embraces more than one day, I have listed it on the Calendar on the FIRST day when it can be experienced. If there are other Events that share the same time period, they have been listed as part of the same entry. Although I created a separate 'perpetual' Calendar Guide that provides only the Dates of Birthdays and Festivals, I have included all Birthdays and Festivals

in the Events Guides as well. Moon. Wallace will advise you: Wallace:

Nothing exists in isolation in Harvest

It's important to plan what you're going to do each day.

Time always is one of the most valuable commodities in any Harvest Moon game. The map in Hero of Leaf Valley is fairly large. Renton will tell you that it takes him at least half a day to circle the entire Valley. Planning your movements so that you can reach specific locations at the right time in order to experience Events can be critical. Although these Event Calendar Guides have been created to allow players to experience all possible Events in Hero of Leaf Valley, it should be stressed that there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to play Harvest Moon games. You are free to choose your own path and your own game strategy. The fact that HoLV provides an option at the end of the 2nd year for players who have succeeded in saving the land to begin a NEW game with his/her existing assets rather than moving forward to explore advanced options in the third year is striking evidence of this. If you are a player who prefers to be 'surprised' by Events rather than planning any strategy, you may opt to restart the game at the end of the 2nd Year in order to experience any of the Events or Story Quests that you may have missed. The various 'endings' and options will be discussed in another section of this Guide. 'Hero of Leaf Valley' has a primary Quest with a strict time limit that must be performed successfully. You must 'save the land' from the threat of development by the Funpark Corporation and you must do so by the end of the 2nd Year. Once you succeed in this primary Quest, the game no longer will make further demands upon your Character in terms of time or his activities. There are a multitude of Events that occur after the 2nd Year, but Leaf Valley will be safe from major threats. To do this, you can save 50,000G and purchase the land from the Funland Company, transform it into a Nature Preserve in order to protect rare, endangered species or transform the area into a desirable Tourist destination.

There are 16 Story Quests in Hero of Leaf Valley. The first is the main Story Quest that involves direct interactions with Funland Corporation and its CEO, Alice. The other 15 Story Quests are divided between Nature Preserve solutions and Tourist Destination solutions. Each Story Quest is linked to a specific Character, although more than one Character usually is involved in the sequence of Events for any Quest. The List of all Storylines is as follows: Shoot for the Stars: The Greatest Farm in the World! (Main Story Quest) Alice Tale of the Golden Potato Seed Dia (Nature Preserve)

Tale of the Blue Mist and the Azure Swallowtails (Nature Preserve) Lyla Tale of the Silver Fish (Nature Preserve) Joe Tale of the Blue Bird (Nature Preserve) Aurelia Tale of the Endangered Weasel (Nature Preserve) Gwen The Hundred-Year-Old Cherry Tree (Nature Preserve) Parsley, Tim The Secret Fossil (Nature Preserve) Rudolph Tale of the Harvest Goddess Dress Gina (Tourist Destination)

Tale of the Cake Contest (Tourist Destination) Katie Tale of the Horse Race Champion (Tourist Destination) Bob The Harvest Goddess Temple (Tourist Destination) Harvest Goddess Rebirth of the True Harvest Festival! Woody The Holy Masterpiece Chester The Legendary Baker (Tourist Destination)

(Tourist Destination) (Tourist Destination)

Ronald Louis, the Inventor King (Tourist Destination) Louis In order to save the land either by transforming it into a Nature Preserve or into a desirable Tourist Destination, you must complete THREE of the Story Quests that fall into the chosen category. In other words, you must complete either three of the Nature Preserve Story Quests or three of the Tourist Destination Story Events. In 'Hero of Leaf Valley', unlike 'Save the Homeland', you can complete more than one Story Quest. One of the factors that will determine how you 'save the land' is whether or not you have 50,000G on 30 Winter in the 2nd Year. Note here that many of the Story Quests will achieve a successful conclusion BEFORE 30 Winter in the 2nd Year. Unlike 'Save the Homeland', the game does not end automatically when you 'clear' any Story Quest or the required number of Story Quests in one of the general categories. The first possible 'ending' to 'Hero of Leaf Valley' occurs on 30 Winter of the 2nd Year, irrespective of how many Story Quests you have completed. Here it is important to understand that the 'Ending' on 30 Winter in almost every case is a 'false ending', very typical of Harvest Moon. If, however, you have failed to meet the requirements for saving the Valley from development, you will experience the one and only true Ending that will force you to restart your game. Within the Main Story Quest, there are three different 'paths' or variations. In the second year, 'Shoot for the Stars' will branch into three separate paths. Your actions as well as your intentions will determine which Path your game will follow. If you wish to be able to persuade Alice to stay in Leaf Valley and have the ability to court her, you need to complete 'Path A' in the Shoot for the Stars!' Story Quest. In order to do so, you must defeat every Robot that Funland sends into the Valley at various points in the story.

When you have the opportunity to try to save Alice and the Funpark employees from drowning, you must choose to do so. If you do not care at all about Alice's future in the Valley, you can refuse to help and this will set you on Path C. Experiencing all the Robot confrontations but failing to defeat even one, if you still try to save Alice from drowning will set you on Path B. If you reject the opportunity to help Alice and Funland when their lives are in danger, you still can meet the essential requirement for completing 'Shoot for the Stars!' on Path C. What this signifies in effect is that you pay off the Funland Corporation, bidding farewell to Alice. The ending for 'Path C', although it takes Alice out of the equation in the third year, nonetheless is a 'successful ending' to the first part of the game. On 30 Winter in the 2nd Year, every player, irrespective of his/her strategies and actions throughout the first two years, WILL experience an Ending Event. Only one of these has the power to end your game without your approval. The Ending that will force you to restart your game will occur if you do not have 50,000G and if you have NOT completed at least three Story Quests in the Nature Preserve solution or three Story Quests in the Tourist Destination solution. Note here that you cannot 'mix and match' Story Quests to save the land by completing a total of three Story Quests in the Nature Preserve and Tourist Destination categories. You do have the ability to complete more than three Story Quests in each of these categories. You then will experience the Ending Event for the solution that has the largest number of completed Story Quests. Although there are 16 different Story Quests, many of them are linked. Bob's Quest for a Champion Race Horse in fact intersects with the Main Story Quest. Most of Tim's Events are linked to different Story Quests and consist of 'Treasure Hunter' hints. Most of the main Events in the 'Shoot for the Stars: The Greatest Farm in the World!' will be experienced automatically by your Character, whether or not

you have any intention of trying to earn sufficient income to buy the land from the Funpark Corporation. The threat of development of the land by the Funpark Corporation is the main Story of 'Hero of Leaf Valley' after all. Some Events in the other 15 Story Quests will be experienced automatically as well, especially when they are linked in some manner to the main Quest. Many Events, however, have requirements in terms of Friendship Levels, Crops, Ranch Animals, Fishing or Mining. If you neglect any traditional Harvest Moon activity or fail to 'Meet and Greet' all Characters regularly, you may find that you are unable to experience the next Event in any sequence of Story Quest Events. Events are strictly regulated in terms of time as well. You may be required to experience a specific Event within a brief set period of 3 days to a week. You therefore easily can miss an Event if you do not explore the Map regularly. If you do not have 50,000G at the end of the 2nd Year or you prefer to save the Land by creating a Nature Preserve or Tourist Destination, you need to complete at least three Story Quests connected to that goal. In fact, you can complete as many Quests as you wish in both categories. The Event that determines the way the land is saved will be determined by the greatest number of completed Story Quests connected to either goal. Any successful 'Ending Event' on 30 Winter can take you forward to the third year or, if YOU choose, can allow you to restart your game with your current assets. If you choose to move forward into the third Year, you can pursue advanced goals of courtship and farming. If you choose to start the game again, you can restart the game with your current assets. If you save your game in more than one slot, you can do both! A player who did not experience all Events in every Story Quest may wish to start again in order to experience the Events he/she missed. When you choose this option, you will keep your current assets in your 'new' game. As discussed previously, if you fail to have 50,000G on 30 Winter and have

failed either to complete three Nature Preserve Story Quests or three Tourist Attraction Story Quests, the game will end and you will be forced to begin a new game. Even when you fail, however, you will be able to keep some of your assets in your new game. If you choose to move forward to the third year, you can continue your life in Leaf Valley without any strict requirements to meet further specific goals, apart from a directive by your father to have a total of 100,000G at the end of the fourth year. In this respect as in the ability to court an Eligible Girl and pursue other activities, Hero of Leaf Valley differs from 'Save the Homeland'. Although true Courtship leading to marriage cannot occur until you have 'saved the land' at the end of the 2nd Year, you can experience a Courtship Event immediately afterwards in the form of a 'Confession' by the Eligible Girl who has the highest Heart Level. Her Confession, similar to the declarations in Animal Parade, is an indication of her desire to marry you one day. Hearing a Girl's Confession does not obligate you to marry the Girl, nor is it the sole requirement for marriage. You still must meet the usual requiremends. There is one special Confession Event that can change a Character significantly. If the Harvest Goddess' Heart Level is higher than that of any other Girl, you will experience 'Marina's Confession', wherein she actually becomes human. Although she still will be at the Spring and will accept your Offerings, she no longer will be a true Goddess with wings. If you wish to marry her, she has to become human. Advanced Goals after Saving the Land Although the first two years are the most critical in terms of experiencing Story Quest Events, there are advanced goals if you choose to move forward to the third year. Your father will not allow you to rest on your laurels but will assess your

progress periodically by the total income that you possess at specific intervals in the 3rd and 4th years. You basically need to have 100,000G by the end of the fourth year in order to meet his requirements! Note that the basic requirement to make 50,000G to achieve the Main Story Quest goal at the end of the 2nd Year as well as the advanced goal to have 100,000G at the end of the 4th Year to meet your father's requirements are easily met. One example of an easy way to make money is by having three Cows in your original Barn. If you care for them properly, each Cow will give you one Large Milk daily. That Milk can be processed into Cheese in a Large Pot and sold for 500G. If you process all your Milk into Cheese, at the end of a single season, you will have 45,000G from the sale of Cheese alone. Four seasons of Cheese sales at this level will give you 180,000G. You have two years to meet the Funland requirement of 50,000G and another two years to measure up to your father's standard of what a successful farmer should earn. The Format of the Event Calendar The Events Guide takes the form of a Calendar and Events are organised by Season and Date. The Calendar includes Events from all 16 of the Storylines. After the Title of the Event, the specific Storyline is given in brackets. As previously indicated, within any Storyline, some Events are mandatory but others are optional. When an Event is optional, this has been indicated. The time or times when the Event can be triggered, its location and any special Requirements are included as well. Where an Event can occur on more than one Day, it has been entered on the Calendar on the FIRST Day that it can be experienced. Where an Event has specific Weather Requirements, that information has been included. In other words, if no information about Weather has been provided, you can assume that the Event will occur in ANY Weather conditions. Similarly, where Events have not been marked as Optional, you can assume they are Mandatory and therefore pivotal to the successful completion of the Story Quest to which they are linked.

Please note that any Event that is listed at the Homestead at 6.00 a.m. on any particular Day will occur when you first exit your Farmhouse. If you oversleep, the Event still should occur as soon as you leave the House. 6.00 a.m. therefore simply is the 'default' time for the Event. You can experience Events for more than one of the Storylines in 'Hero of Leaf Valley'. As the PSP offers multiple save slots, you can save your game at a point where Event sequences follow two different paths. The Hundred Year Old Cherry Tree Story Quest is an example where two different paths exist. You then can move forward in new slots towards different endings. There is no limit to the number of Story Quests you can complete. The way in which you ultimately 'save' Leaf Valley will depend either on your total income on 30 Winter or, if you are attempting to create a Nature Preserve or Tourist Destination, the one for which you have completed the largest number of Story Quests. In some cases, experiencing an Event will unlock new options, such as rare Seeds or new areas on the Map. You therefore may wish to experience as many Events as possible, even if you wish to pursue a specific 'Ending' in the 2nd Year. Where an Event has a 'Result' in terms of unlocking a new option, I have included that information. Each Storyline has its own Event sequences. Some Events are mandatory and others are optional to the successful completion of the specific Story. Optional Events that are linked to a specific Story Quest in this Guide in some cases would be considered Character Events or Subsidiary Events in other Harvest Moon games. They often are connected only in a general manner to the actual Story Quest and primarily are Events based on your Friendship Level with the main Character in the Event. This is why they are designated as 'Optional' Events and why, if you fail to experience them, you nonetheless often can pursue a successful ending to the Story Quest to which they have been linked. I have created a Walkthrough/General Guide for Hero of Leaf Valley containing

information about all general aspects of life, including Farming, Ranching, Mining, Fishing and Social Interactions. Although it contains some basic information about the various Storylines and contains a Calendar of Birthdays and Festivals, it does not give a Schedule of Events. You will find my Hero of Leaf Valley General Guide at: http://faqs.ign.com/articles/108/1086817p1.html In 'Friends of Mineral Town', 'More Friends of Mineral Town', 'HM DS' and 'HM Cute DS', there were Events that could occur only in specific years. I therefore created special mini-guides in the form of Events Guides for each Year through the Fifth Year. In 'Hero of Leaf Valley,' Events in any of the 16 Storylines are set to occur only on specific dates in the first two years. I therefore have created similar Events Guides for this game in the style of my Events calendar Guides for other Harvest Moon games. This is the Hero of Leaf Valley 1st Year Events Guide. Friendship Level Requirements When you study the Calendar of Events, you will see that one of the most common Requirements is a specific Friendship Level with one or more Characters. Friendship therefore is at the heart of HoLV as in any Harvest Moon game. Failing to 'meet and greet' Characters regularly spells potential disaster. Failure to introduce yourself to any specific Character likewise may prevent you from experiencing pivotal Events in the game. At the very start of the game, the Harvest Goddess will ask three questions. The responses you choose will boost the friendship of a selected group of Characters in Leaf Valley. There are obvious 'positive' or 'good' responses, but as in other Harvest Moon games, often a bad or negative action or response will be attractive to one or more Characters. Littering, for example, in some Harvest Moon games, although it will decrease the Friendship Levels of most individuals, sometimes increases that of the Witch Princess who is forever at odds with her greatest rival, the Harvest Goddess.

(Note that this is not always the case. The Witch Princess' Friendship Levels usually will decrease if you litter inside HER home!) The three questions asked by the Harvest Goddess now are as follows: A puppy is abandoned in the rain. Your options: Take it home. Ignore it. There's trash on the ground. Pick it up. Leave it. There's money on the ground. Take it to the police. Keep it. The responses that you give to the three Questions posed by the Harvest Goddess will affect Friendship Levels as follows: If you give the 'positive' response or first response to each of the three questions of the Harvest Goddess, you will earn +15 FP with the following individuals: the Harvest Goddess herself, Dia, Louis, Bob, Joe, Wallace, Chester and Nak. If you give the 'negative' or second response to each of her three questions, you will gain +15 FP with Katie, Gina, Kurt, Ronald, Charlie, Renton, Rudolph and Nik. If you give a combination of positive and negative responses, you earn +15 FP with Gwen, Lyla, Aurelia, Alice, Parsley, Tim, Woody, Martha and Flak. When a minimum Friendship Level is a Requirement for any Event that occurs in the first Spring and you are determined to experience that Event, you may wish to tailor your Responses to the questions posed by the Harvest Goddess to boost the FP of the Character involved in the Event. What do you do? What do you do? What do you do?

Once you have been introduced to any Character, you can earn Friendship Points with the following actions: 'Meet and Greet' an individual to gain +1 FP with him/her Give an individual an Item he/she likes or loves to gain +1 - +3 FP. If the item is a Most Favourite Gift, it will result in an increase of +3 FP. IF the item simply is acceptable to the Character, you will gain +1 FP. Items that the Character loves but are not 'Most Favourites' are worth +2 FP. Remembering a Character on his/her Birthday with a Most Favourite Gift will result in a gain of +10 FP. Working Part-Time for local merchants and buying items from their Shops will earn Friendship Points with those Characters. Completing Requests will endear you to the Individuals who make them as well. Giving an acceptable Gift to a Character on the Harvest Goddess Festival Day increases Friendship more than a Gift of the same item on an ordinary Day. Experiencing a specific Event can increase Friendship with individuals involved in that Event. Where a substantial FP increase results, that information has been included in this Guide. The biggest problem in any Harvest Moon game, especially at the beginning, is not lack of money but lack of time. 'Meeting and Greeting' every Character on the Map can be extremely time-consuming. Leaf Valley is not a small Valley. As Renton remarks:

Renton: It takes about half a day to circle around the whole town. It's a little too big... You may be tempted to sell every item that you obtain in the first Spring, but if you have any ambition to give yourself a choice in terms of the method by which you ultimately will save the land, you cannot afford to neglect social interactions. Fortunately, there are items that are of little monetary value that are popular

with most Characters. These include Fruits and Berries, Red Herb, Flowers and any size of Fish. Crops and Eggs are acceptable as well to most Characters. There are only a few exceptions. Chester does not care for Crops, while Joe does not like Red Herb. Ponta likes ONLY Fish. Although most Characters will not appreciate the Gift of Fodder, there are a number who do. Bob, Chester, Joe, Parsley, Ronald and Rudolph all will accept Fodder happily. As the Meadow on your Homestead is filled with fully ripened Grass that needs only the use of a Sickle to be transformed into Fodder, this item makes a perfect gift for the individuals who appreciate it. Another item of little general value but which is appreciated by a few is a Failed Dish, otherwise known as Bad Cooking. Aurelia, Chester, Rudolph and Zann all will accept Failed Dishes with pleasure. Insects, on the other hand, will be acceptable solely to Tim, who collects them and actually will pay for them. Scrap Metal can be given to Zann in a sequence of transactions that ultimately can allow you to obtain Accessories. Unlike many other Harvest Moon games, unacceptable or disliked items simply will be refused. You therefore cannot 'waste' an item by giving it to some one who will not appreciate it. You are allowed to give one Gift per day to any Character. There is one added twist to this in that an item that has been refused counts as the gift for the day even though it was not accepted. You therefore can waste your opportunity to give a desired Gift, although you cannot waste an actual item. The 'one item per day' rule does not apply to Collectors such as Tim and Ponta. You can give as many insects as you wish to Tim in any given day and Ponta will accept all the Fish you wish to offer him. Only the first Gift of the Day, however, will result in an FP increase. Heart Events and Friendship Events in Hero of Leaf Valley often are linked to a Story Quest to the extent that a requirement for being able to experience a

specific Heart Event or Friendship Event may be one of the Events in the Story Quest sequence or even the actual successful conclusion to the Story Quest. In other words, seldom is Heart Level or FP total the sole requirement for a Friendship or Heart Event in HoLV. That is why they often are listed as 'Optional' Events in a specific Story Quest sequence, rather than standing alone as it were.

Making a Second Attempt If you enter the area where an Event is set to occur and fail to trigger the Event, you may have earned insufficient Friendship Points with a Character involved in the Event. Most Events are set to occur on specific dates. If it is the last opportunity to experience the Event, you should 'meet and greet' the individual with the FP requirement and give him/her a Gift. Through these actions, you should be able to earn +2 or +3 additional Friendship Points. This could be sufficient to meet the FP requirement for the Event. Exit the area and then re-enter to attempt to trigger the Event again. Wishes for the Harvest Goddess When you throw an acceptable Offering into the Goddess Spring, the Harvest Goddess may be willing to grant a Wish. You will be given a choice of options: Get along with Girls. Get along with horses. Get along with dogs. Restore strength. Alleviate weariness. As you can see, one of these is a Wish to raise Friendship Levels. Note that the Wish is not always successful but even if it is ineffective, your offering will increase the FP of the Harvest Goddess herself. Incidentally, the Harvest Goddess will accept a second Gift if the first has

been used to summon her for a Wish. It is when she accepts the second gift that she will remark upon her liking for the actual item thrown into the Spring. Other Friendship Boosts When you first begin 'Hero of Leaf Valley', the Harvest Goddess Festival will appear on your Calendar on 11 Spring. Throughout the first week, Channel 1 on the television will broadcast an announcement of the Festival. In case you forget all of these hints, you will receive a Letter in your Postbox on the morning of 11 Spring as follows: Harvest Goddess Festival (star) Today is the Harvest Goddess Festival! Is there some one you'd like to thanks? Is there some one you have a crush on? Take this opportunity to give a gift to that special some one, and become even better friends! A Gift on the Harvest Goddess Festival is worth more in terms of increasing Friendship Levels than it would be on any other day. Take advantage of this early opportunity to raise all Friendship Levels. Red Herb is an item that grows prolifically in the wilds and most individuals will accept it gladly. If you do not have sufficient items to give every Character a Gift, target those whose Friendship Levels are significant in terms of unlocking Story Events. This Guide is designed to maximise a player's ability to focus on the Characters who are involved in specific Events in each Season. Completing a Delivery Request raises Friendship Levels as well. You will find special Delivery Requests in many of the local Shops. Apparently, this option is akin to a card posted in a local shop window as often the actual person who makes the Request is some one other than the Shop Owner. For example, 15 Red Herbs Delivered to Wallace at the Cafe pursuant to the Delivery Request posted in his Menu will elicit a thank you letter from Kurt. Optional Story Quest Events

Many of the Optional Events that have been linked to specific Story Events actually would be considered Character Events, Friendship Events or Heart Events in other Harvest Moon games. You therefore may wish to experience these Events even when you have no real plan to complete the particular Story Quest to which the Event has been assigned. It is the completion of all the Mandatory Events in each of the Story Quests that will determine your ultimate success in saving the Land. As a matter of fact, in many cases, where these so-called 'Optional' Events are concerned, the actual link to any Story Quest is tenuous. General Rules for Experiencing Events You definitely can experience more than one Event in any given day, but you cannot experience two Events that are set to occur when you exit your House for the first time at 6.00 a.m. If you have met all requirements for two such Events, you will experience one on the first day when either are scheduled to occur and the other on the next possible day when it can be triggered. There is a set hierarchy of Events in HoLV wherein Mandatory Events that are part of the Main Story Quest that are set to occur at 6.00 a.m. at the Homestead will take precedence over all others that can be experienced within a particular time frame. After that, priority will be given to Mandatory Events connected to any of the other 15 Story Quests. Optional Events that either constitute Friendship Events or Optional Story Quest Events will occur only if all Mandatory Events set to occur within the specific time frame have been experienced. There are no limits to the number of Events you can experience in any given day when those Events are scheduled to occur at other times and at other locations. For example, provided the weather is fine, you can experience three Optional Events on Friday, 17 Summer. Missing Events It appears that the order of the Optional Events that you can and should experience in a specific period of time is set by some intangible quality,

probably the total number of FP points that you have with the protagonist in the Event. The real risk of missing an Event that you are determined to experience would exist if there were requirements in terms of Weather and the Weather failed you. It is here that it is useful to know how far in advance the weather is set. In HoLV, the Weather is set only two days in advance. If, therefore, you keep one save file two days prior to the current date, you always will be able to load that file to change the weather if you are in danger of losing the ability to experience an Event due to inclement weather conditions. The fact of the matter is that the Weather Trends ordinarily appear to be set to coincide with the requirements of major Events. You will not find many Events set during a 'Rainy Trend'. Even so, there is a faint chance that you could miss an Event because of bad weather. Knowing that you could reload an earlier file in such a case could be useful. Strategy for Experiencing Events Although Mandatory Events in the Main Story Quest sequence cannot be missed, there are a large number of Events that, while technically 'Optional' should be experienced in order to gain the greatest benefits in HoLV. Remember always that there may be other requirements for these Events, including minimum Friendship Level requirements. Events that are 'Optional' but definitely are worth experiencing include the Event wherein Bob essentially will give you a Horse, under the fictional premise of 'lending' it to you. If you study this Events Calendar Guide before you begin each new Season, you can plan your movements and actions accordingly to make certain that minimum Friendship Levels are met and that the Weather will favour you when necessary. As fine Weather is a requirement for many of the Events in HoLV, I would advise players always to try to experience all possible Events within a specific time

frame at the EARLIEST opportunity. Except where an Event is scheduled to occur outside your Farmhouse at 6.00 a.m., you can experience multiple Events in the course of a single Day. It therefore is worth the effort to be at the right location at the right time on the first day when any Events can be experienced, even if this means that you will not have much time to work or make money on that day. Once all Events have been experienced, you no longer will have to worry about the Weather or any other considerations. Plan your Movements at the beginning of the Day in order to be able to enter the Locations where any Events are scheduled to occur without wasting time retracing your path if possible. Using 17 Summer as an example, as three Optional Events can be experienced on that day between 6.01 a.m. and 5.59 p.m., provided the Weather is fine, you probably should go to the Plaza first as this will allow you to experience Katie's 2nd Friendship Event immediately. The Plaza is the central hub of the 'wheel' of Leaf Valley and constitutes a shortcut for many destinations. From the Plaza, you can move quickly to Crystal Bay to experience Martha's Event before you return to the Plaza and take the path to the Grocery Store. The next Event occurs in the area of the Cafe, so all that is required is to move north from the Grocery Store to experience the 1st Ocarina Event. You should be able to do all of this before noon. As these Events can be triggered on other days, players need not pursue this strict schedule, but by doing so, you make certain that you will not miss anything either if the Weather proves inclement later or if you become distracted by other goals. As discussed in previous sections of this Guide, the Weather is set only two days in advance, subject to the general rules of the current Weather Trends that appear on your Calendar. Each Season will include a Dry Period, a Hot Period and a Rainy Period. No trend will last more than seven days or a full week. A Dry Period may last

for seven days, but a Rainy Period never lasts more than five. Remember that these are trends rather than certain conditions but there are general rules that apply to each. During a Dry Period, you cannot experience ANY rainy/snowy days. Crops MUST be watered daily or they will wilt. Weather conditions during a Dry Period have the following probability of occurring on any given day: Clear: 85% Cloudy: 15% Rain/Snow: 0% Downpour: 0% Thunderstorm: 0% During a Hot Period, Rain has a small chance of occurring. probabilities are: Clear: 55% Cloudy: 25% Rain/Snow: 15% Downpour: 5% Thunderstorm: 0% During a Rainy Period, you will not experience any Clear Days but you may experience Cloudy Days without any actual Rain. The probabilities are: Clear: 0% Cloudy: 5% Rain/Snow: 65% Downpour: 15% Thunderstorm: 15% Dry Periods are marked in Yellow on your Calendar. marked in Blue, while Hot Days are marked in Pink. Rainy Days are The

Although you cannot experience any Clear Days during a Wet/Rainy Trend, as you can see, the chances of Rain or Snow, however great, are not guaranteed, and if you are patient, you can obtain a Cloudy Day that will allow you to experience any Events that cannot be triggered in foul Weather. Generally speaking, it appears that the schedule set for the Story Events coincides with fair weather trends for the most part when specific Weather Requirements exist for the Events. It is seldom, therefore, that you will find yourself in a situation where you cannot experience a pivotal Event because you have encountered a Rainy Trend.

These Events Calendars Guides have been created to allow players to organise their game plans to experienced ALL possible Events. Items Required for Story Quests There are a number of 'Key' Items that you can acquire in the course of special Events but which will not be part of your ordinary Inventory and not subject to your control. There are other ordinary items that will be required for a specific Story Quests and which, should you fail to obtain them, will cause the Quest to grind to a halt. Ordinary Items that you will need to obtain for Story Quests in the first year include: Golden Egg x 2 Golden Milk These items are needed for Katie's Story Quest to create a special Cake to win a Contest.
