October 26, 2011 HONORABLE MAYOR MIKE RAWLINGS Request for Item to Appear on the Voting Agenda In accordance with the City Council Rules of Procedures Section 6.2, six city councilmembers have requested the following item appear on the next voting agenda meeting. Attached is a copy of the request. Redistricting Alternative Following receipt of a request for placement of an agenda item from at least five (5) Councilmembers, Section 6.2(a)(2) of the City Council Rules of Procedure, states the agenda item shall be placed on the first voting agenda scheduled at least 30 calendar days after receipt of the request by the mayor, if the item is requested to be placed on a voting agenda. The Councilmembers submitting the request have requested you allow an exception to the City Council Rules of Procedure to allow placement of the above-noted item on the November 7, 2011 voting agenda. However, understanding certain restrictions and the short meeting schedule for the month of November 2011, it is understood the item may be scheduled for consideration at the December 14, 2011 voting agenda meeting. If you need additional information, please let me know.
