Kent Connects In partnership with Kent Business School Research Project Terms of Reference [Project Sponsor] and [Student]

will agree a schedule of work for the project and appropriate arrangements to monitor and evaluate progress. [Student] will complete a research project plan by describing what the issues are and how the work will be structured, what the key milestones will be, how risks will be managed and how stakeholders will be engaged. This will also include a description of how the:o Information on the issues will be gathered (i.e. data types and sources, surveys, interviews and focus groups) o Research will be analysed (i.e. what does it show? where are the gaps and opportunities?) o Analysis will help the Project Sponsor action the recommendations (i.e. how will they be appraised? how will they enable the Sponsor to implement them?) The student will also provide a description of the methodologies, materials and tools to be used to carry out the research and any resources needed from the Project Sponsor prior to starting the project. Although there will no doubt be specific outputs relevant to each project, the following are outputs that every student will need to produce and submit to the Project Sponsor. o Research project plan o Interim research report o Final research report and presentation o Primary data in an open data format o Bibliography The following are outputs that all Project Sponsors will need to confirm and submit to students. o Commitment from Sponsor; time, space, support. o Paying expense agreed level o Interim review o Potential for any funding o Business case o Review process [Project Sponsor] and [Student] to ensure report is completed by Student and signed off by Project Sponsor by 12th September 2011. [Project Sponsor] and [Student] to complete evaluation of the project for process review in October 2011 between all Kent Connects Partners and Kent Business School. All work produced for this research project (including new methodologies created for the purpose of this project) will be licensed under a Creative Commons AttributionNonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License[1]. All public data collected as part of this project is to be released under the Open Government Licence.
