Candidate Registration and Test Process

For

Tata Motors

Note: All proctors/center heads and other personnel engaged in the delivery of this
project are requested to read this document carefully. Queries if any, may be forwarded to

Test Details:

There are Nine(9) Tests (called here as Parts) to be conducted for the employees of Tata
Motors.

Test:

To be delivered through NIIT Litmus Assessment Engine installed at the computer. This
is a one hour duration test with two separate titles:

Demo Test 9:00 to 9:10


(Part 1)Quantitative Ability 9:30 to 10:00
(Part 2)Logical Reasoning 10:00 to 10:30
(Part 3)Verbal 10:30 to 11:00

(Part 4)Comprehension 11:15 to 11:45

(Part 8) Opt 3 Operation 1:45 to 2:15

Every candidate has to login to the Litmus Test engine. Thus the combined duration of
the tests for a candidate is 4.5 hour.

Login-ids and Password for each part will be emailed to Proctor and Network
administrator on 25th January’08.

Candidate Registration Process

The candidates for this test are the employees working with Tata Motors.

The Process of candidate registration is as under:

1. The candidate arrives at the center at 8:30am before the scheduled time of the test.

2. The candidate is greeted and asked to be seated in the reception area.

3. The candidate is asked to provide his/her photo ID card provided by Tata Motors.

4. The candidate is assigned the login ID (The complete list of Login IDs and Password
will be send to the center with the candidate’s name)

5. The candidate’s details (name, location, center, login Id, password etc.) will be sent to
all centers in an excel sheet

6. The candidate is then taken to the testing room and the proctor asks the candidate to
start the test engine.

Instructions for the Candidates

• Only people taking the test are allowed in the testing area. Anyone accompanying
the candidates is not allowed in the testing area.
• No study material is allowed in the testing area.
• Please do not attempt to browse outside your testing window or access the
internet.
• Do not click on the END ASSESSMENT button until you have completed the
entire test.
• If you engage in any misconduct, or misbehavior with the fellow test takers or the
NIIT staff, you’ll be asked to leave the testing area and your test will be
terminated.
• Please maintain a quiet atmosphere in the testing area.
• Once completed you’ll be asked to leave the testing area by the proctor.

Test Process

Steps:
1. The candidate clicks the Litmus test engine (available on the desktop ) and enters the
login id and password for each part of the test.
Note: There will be separate login id’s and password for different parts.

2. Login’s and Password need to be given to the candidate at the start of the each part.

3. The candidate clicks on the first test and the test window appears:

4. The candidate clicks on the ‘Start Assessment’ and the test starts with the first
question. This screen shows the section Name, question number, time remaining and
overall progress etc.

Here onwards the candidates will be able to do the following:

• The candidate can choose one option by clicking on the radio button and submit
the response by clicking on the ‘Submit’ Button.
• The candidate can skip the question also by clicking on the ‘skip’ button. Later on
he can come back to the same question by clicking on the ‘<<Prev’ button.
• The candidate can bookmark a question, incase s/he wants to attempt the question
later on.
• The candidate can go to Instructions page by clicking on the ‘Instructions’.
• The candidate can go to review page if s/he wants to see how many questions he
has attempted and how many have been book-marked etc.

5. Once the candidate has attempted all the questions, the candidate need to click on ‘End
Assessment’ button for submitting the test. The following screen will appear and it will
ask the candidate if he wants to submit the test?

The candidate may choose

1. OK – If the candidate has attempted all the questions.


2. Cancel – if the candidate has not attempted all the questions and still has some
time remaining to attempt the questions. Once clicking on ‘Cancel’ the test will
take him/her to the last attempted question screen.

Once the candidate clicks on ‘OK’ the test ends.

6. Once the candidate finish the first Part, the candidate will have to attempt the 2 nd part
to 8 part of test as per the same above 1st Part process.

7. Once the Candidates finish all the eight parts of the test, they will be guided to leave
the center.
