Youth is like a fire It crept forward.

A Spark at first Growing into a flame The brightening into a Blaze Introduction The young people that concern us in this study are between the ages of 18 and the early thirties. They are at the post-adolescence stage and want to become psychologically autonomous by trying to affirm their self. More precisely, they all have a need to be themselves and to stand back in order to assess their education and social influences. Nowadays, such a long drawn-out youth brings about some uncertainty in making life choices. Some prefer to postpone final decisions, to delay their entry into adult life and decisive commitments. As they do not question their independence problems, they do not feel obliged to make important choices. Moreover, a strong tendency to experiment can be seen in many spheres of life. Thus young people can easily leave their families, but they return and settle in after a failure or a difficulty. The main difference between this and preceding generations (who made precise choices with priorities) is the tendency to live various aspects of life at the same time, sometimes contradictory, and without prioritising their own need and values. Some young people today are very dependant on the need to experiment because, as things have not been passed down to them, they think that nothing is known about life and that everything has to be discovered and invented. This is why they often seem to be susceptible and to bend to the many requests being made today, regardless of whether they are negative or enriching.

Present scenario of youth- The youth has been described as the generation X, which is going to lead the nation and the world. They are encouraged by words like

leaders of tomorrow. The world is in deep need of such people who hold the fervor of leading a nation or doing good deeds. In the present scenario of India, the nation is in deep need of intellectual youth. The present politicians on large are not suffice to lead the nation. Therefore, in order to develop the country, theres an urgent need of youthful figures. The young people have young blood, which can handle situations in a better way. According to the latest studies, youth are the ones who are aware of latest things, about which the old people may not be aware. The Politics means serving people and helping the backward communities to come forward and lead a better life. Shows like LEAD INDIA are not made to increase the TRP or whatsoever but to aware the people that yes, youth can do much more than what they expected them to do. If the youngsters dont come up with new and better ideas, how will we progress? Wont we be the same old people who dont know what progress means? Youth can handle it in a different way, as winners are not the ones who do different things but who do things differently. Im sure they would have sought out some better and peaceful methods of taking people out of the dilemma. Talking about the blasts in various places like Ahmedabad and Bangalore, it is the youth that is doing such impish act. In each and every corner of the city youll find two youth skirmishing with each other. Instead why dont they opt in for good things? Why do they do all such things? Most probably because they hate peaceful areas and love to disgrace themselves. The current scenario needs young blood to change the old world into Youngistan! old saying, slow and steady wins the race has been replaced by, fast and competent wins the race.

One of the most important organs in ensuring security in a country is the Army and its related organs. The soldiers work round the clock to ensure that the common

man is safe and sound. They are so selfless that we ought to learn something from them. Perspiring in the summers when the mercury soars up to more than 40 degree Celsius, these soldiers never think of their needs and work throughout the year for a smile on our faces. In their selfless work for the nation and us, are they not to be given any sort of comforts? They never speak about their needs but just remain happy with whatever they have.

Problems faced by youth and recommendation Youth smoking is an issue that affects countries worldwide. While not every culture views youth smoking as an issue that needs to be addressed, the U.S. has taken drastic measure in an attempt to reduce and eventually eliminate use of tobacco products among teens. Nearly a quarter of high school students in the U.S. smoke cigarettes. Another 8% use smokeless tobacco. Smoking has many health risks for everyone. However, the younger you are when you start smoking, the more problems it can cause. For example: People who start smoking before the age of 21 have the hardest time quitting. About 30% of youth smokers will continue smoking and die early from a smokingrelated disease. Teen smokers are more likely to use alcohol and illegal drugs. They are more likely to have panic attacks, anxiety disorders and depression. Parents and other adults who work with children can help by warning them of the risks of smoking. They can also set a good example by not smoking themselves.

Secondhand Smoke What is secondhand smoke? Secondhand smoke is also known as environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) or passive smoke. It is a mixture of 2 forms of smoke that come from burning tobacco: sidestream smoke (smoke that comes from the end of a lighted cigarette, pipe, or cigar) and mainstream smoke (smoke that is exhaled by a smoker). Even though we think of these as the same, they aren't. The sidestream smoke has higher concentrations of cancer-causing agents (carcinogens) than the mainstream smoke. And, it contains smaller particles than mainstream smoke, which make their way into the body's cells more easily. When non-smokers are exposed to secondhand smoke it is called involuntary smoking or passive smoking. Non-smokers who breathe in secondhand smoke take in nicotine and other toxic chemicals just like smokers do. The more secondhand smoke you are exposed to, the higher the level of these harmful chemicals in your body. Why is secondhand smoke a problem? Secondhand smoke causes cancer Secondhand smoke is classified as a "known human carcinogen" (cancer-causing agent) by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the US National Toxicology Program, and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a branch of the World Health Organization. Tobacco smoke contains over 4,000 chemical compounds. More than 60 of these are known or suspected to cause cancer

Secondhand smoke causes other kinds of diseases and deaths Secondhand smoke can cause harm in many ways. In the United States alone, each year it is responsible for: An estimated 46,000 deaths from heart disease in people who are currently non-smokers About 3,400 lung cancer deaths as a result of breathing secondhand smoke

Other breathing problems in non-smokers, including coughing, mucus, chest discomfort, and reduced lung function 50,000 to 300,000 lung infections (such as pneumonia and bronchitis) in children younger than 18 months of age, which result in 7,500 to 15,000 hospitalizations annually Increases in the number and severity of asthma attacks in about 200,000 to 1 million children who have asthma More than 750,000 middle ear infections in children

Pregnant women exposed to secondhand smoke are also at increased risk of having low birth- weight babies.

Spitting in public places effects on public health Tuberculosis, MTB, or TB (short for tubercle bacillus) is a common and in many cases lethal infectious disease caused by various strains of mycobacteria, usually Mycobacterium tuberculosis.[1] Tuberculosis usually attacks the lungs but can also affect other parts of the body. It is spread through the air when people who have an active MTB infection cough, sneeze, or otherwise transmit their saliva through the air.[2] Most infections in humans result in an asymptomatic, latent infection, and about one in ten latent infections eventually progresses to active disease, which, if left untreated, kills more than 50% of those infected Transmission

When people suffering from active pulmonary TB cough, sneeze, speak, sing, or spit, they expel infectious aerosol droplets 0.5 to 5 m in diameter. A single sneeze can release up to 40,000 droplets.[40] Each one of these droplets may transmit the disease, since the infectious dose of tuberculosis is very low and inhaling fewer than ten bacteria may cause an infection.
