Sukhothai Beef Noodles House in Pulau Tikus

Sukhothai Beef Noodles House is located on the ever bustling Burmah Road, right in the heart of the Pulau Tikus neighborhood. The restaurant is situated along a row of shop houses between the Pulau Tikus police station and the popular Jones Road Loh Mee. Since its opening last month, Sukhothai Beef Noodles House with a short menu has been attracting customers with its Thai beef noodles. The short menu includes three desserts and five other dishes, namely the Pad Thai, Fish Maw Soup, Thai Fried Rice, Tong Yam Fried Rice and also the Green Curry or Massaman Curry.

Abbey Road Bistro Restaurant, Butterworth

Located in the Sunway township of Seberang Jaya, Abbey Road is a trendsetting Beatles-inspired bistro and restaurant. The restaurant concept of this family-owned outlet is derived from the restaurants owner Cheong Chee Seng love for The Beatles. The walls are adorned with posters of the group, and diners get to enjoy their music too. Opened in April 2011, this restaurant which occupies the ground floor of a shop house, offers dining in a casual mode. The kitchen is managed by chef Samuel Cheong, who has worked in many overseas establishments and fine dining restaurants. The simple menu focuses on Western cuisine with modern plating.

Liberty sizzles with its Claypot Fish Head Curry

Many heritage buildings along the road have been restored and converted into upmarket eateries and franchise restaurants that offer a wide variety of multicultural cuisine. Located at the intersection of Beach and Chulia Street is Lam Ah, a small coffee shop with a zinc roof that sells the popular local delicacy fish head curry. The Liberty Claypot Fish Head Curry is an excellent place to visit, especially for the adventurous gourmand.

The recently launched Campbell House in George Town is home to Il Bacaro Venetian Restaurant. This slice of classic Italian dining is within walking distance of Tho Yuen and Tai Tong Dim Sum House. The restaurant serves its cuisine the Il Bacaro way, which is based on a traditional Venetian backstreet tavern. Its where one can enjoy authentic Italian dishes served in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Ming Garden Restaurant at Penang Times Square

Over the last few months, several Chinese restaurants marked their opening on Penang island, and the latest to go full swing is Ming Garden. Located in Penang Times Square, the restaurant is decorated in a modern Chinese style. The efficient supervisor comes over to introduce what the menu had to offer as soon as we were seated. As with most Chinese restaurants, the supervisor verbally listed out the popular and signature dishes. We chose several dishes to go along with their signature Peking duck and braised goose web.
