Wanted to study art in a less developed society. Trying to put a price of art that it is destroyed. Art is reduced - Going back to the savages , societies that has no art school, organized religions. - Because art has a function in those society - Looking for primitive civilization - Attempting to unlearn art of modernity and pick up the art of the primitive - Gauguin believed that pure art can be found in primitive society EXAM: 1.
