RINO Hunting

If you're like me, you have noticed more and more over the years, that elections are more about money than the actual person being elected. Especially today, all I hear (even on Fox News) is how much money so-and-so is raising, and how candidate A will probably be the Presidential nominee because he/she is out-raising the other candidates. This is complete bullshit. The results have been people being elected only because they hob-nobbed enough rich guys or PACs to out advertise the loser. This in turn, results in people being elected that were not necessarily the best one for the job. This has been especially true with the Republican Party. We keep getting RINOs (Republican In Name Only), who will talk a good game during the campaign process. They will tell us whatever we want to hear to get both funding & votes. Then, once elected to office, they do whatever they want, regardless of what they promised. A large number of these RINOs are what is referred to as Progressives. In short, Progressives believe in more government power/control. More government power/control equals less freedom for the people and less money in our economy. If you are reading this page, you are definitely a conservative. We are also what is known as The Base or Activists. The Republicans know they can count on our votes, so they concentrate on the so-called Independents and Moderates (A moderate is someone who will not make a commitment.). We Conservatives are the ones who stay up on current events, stay educated, and will contact our elected officials occasionally to question them or urge their vote on various decisions/policies. I am not a dues paying member of the Michigan or Kalamazoo County Republican Party largely due to the issues I discussed above: I don't like many of the people at the meetings. I will say however, that I like more people at the State Party than the local. I interact with the Republican party simply because you will never find a Conservative on the other side, and the election laws of this state limit us to Republican Party or Democrat Party. After years of yelling at my TV and sometimes even threatening my TVs health, I found a way for us to combat this process of buying your way into a political office and lying to us to get that office. I became a Precinct Delegate for the GOP. As a Precinct Delegate, you get to help pick who gets to run for office and who gets to pick at the National Convention. Precinct Delegate is an elected position that only requires 1 vote if unchallenged. You will also find that there is probably no one holding the position in your Precinct. Last year, Michigan had close to 5,000 open Delegate seats! As a Precinct Delegate, my local Party has to deal with me and allow me to be a part of the process. It felt good over the last 2 election cycles to be a part of the process. I attended both State Conventions and therefore helped pick the nominees for each election, and the leaders

of the State Party. I still felt somewhat outnumbered, but there are more and more of us true conservatives getting involved. If enough of us get involved at the delegate level, we can eliminate the RINOs and the buying of seats. As Precinct Delegate, you are on a list. Potential candidates get these lists and very actively campaign to you well before the ads start showing up on TV and radio. They will also readily accept e-mail and telephone communications. The candidates know they have to convince you to vote for them in order for them to run for public election. This gives you the power to help pick elected officials at the State & Local levels. It also gives you the power to select party Leaders and Delegates to the National Convention. If enough of us get involved, we can avoid another McCain. As it sits right now, with the exception at the moment of Herman Cain, the top GOP contenders are at least RINOs and at worst, Liberals. Perry wants to spend taxpayer dollars on illegal aliens and was willing to enact a physically intrusive state law (Ordered HPV vaccines) to appease family members and large campaign donors. Romney imposed Romneycare on his state. The State is now on the verge of bankruptcy. If we can take the money element out of the election process, we can avoid or eliminate crony capitalism and special interests/corporate welfare, and get real Conservatives back in government.
