SPECIAL SPECIFICATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PROPOSED JALAN TEBAKANG MELAYU - KPG.

TEBAKANG MELAYU LINK ROAD ( PHASE III), SERIAN DISTRICT, SAMARAHAN DIVISION.

1. SCOPE OF WORKS This quotation calls for the supply of plants, machineries, equipments, tools, operators, etc. required for the construction of 460m x 5.0 m (width) gravel access road to link the existing Jalan Tebakang Melayu to the Kampung Tebakang Melayu internal access road, Tebakang, Serian District, Samarahan Division. Detail of the proposed works included:(i) Necessary site clearing on the proposed road alignment (460 m x 5m) and compacted of existing earth embankment to required compaction strength and camber to form the required road subgred layer. (ii) To load and transport (with 3 M.T truck) to the proposed site. (iii) Transport, spread grade and compact 50mm DCR to an average compacted thickness of 300mm to form road stone base with an average width of 5.0m. Transportation of 50mm DCR will from JKR stockpile which is situated next to proposed site. (Indicated on the Site Plan) (iv) 50mm DCR will be provided and transported by JKR to Kpg. Tebakang Melayu temporary stockpile. 2. THE SITE The proposed starting chainage is located at CH Km 5+300, Jalan Tebakang Melayu, Serian, Bhg. Samarahan. Proposed bride is not part this contract. Tenders are expected to construct their own access to the above-mentioned site. 3. DOCUMENT The following document shall form part of the Contract; (i) Form of Quotation (ii) JKR Sarawak Form of Contract (iii) Standard Specification for Road Works (JKR/SPJ/1988) (iv) Summary of Quotation (v) This Special Specification (vi) Locality Plan (vii) Site Plan

(viii) Typical Cross Section 4. PERIOD OF CONTRACT The contract shall be for a period of three (3) weeks commencing from the date of Letter of Acceptance. 5. SITE VISIT Contractor(s) are advised to make prior visit to the proposed site through the existing Jalan Tebakang Melayu, Serian, Bhg. Samarahan. No extra claim will be allowed on ground of lack of knowledge of the site. 6. COMPACTION Materials used in embankment shall be compacted as soon as practicable after being placed and spread at each 300mm layer. Compaction shall be undertaken to the requirements of plant as approved by the S.O or his appointed representative. 7. SHAPING AND GRADING OF ROAD BASE The Contractor is to reshape including grading existing earth embankment to average width of 5.0 m. Spreading and grading of the crushed aggregates for the proposed road base is to be done by the S.O or his authorized representative are to be immediately removed away from the site. Breakdown machineries upon receiving instruction form the S.O or his authorized representative. 8. LIQUIDATED AND ASCERTAINED DAMAGES If the contractor fails to complete within the stated time or any extended time as may be grated bye the S.O, then he shall pay the sum of RM 100 per day as Liquidated and Ascertained damages damage for causing such delay. The S.O also reserve the right to ask other parties to carry out the work in case of the undue delay and any extra costs incurred will be charged to the contractor. 9. COMPACTION OF ROADBASE The Contractor is to use Mechanical Vibrating Roller of minimum eight tons to compacted the newly filled crushed aggregates for the proposed Road Base all in Accordance with the SSRW and all works are to be carried out to the satisfaction of the S.O or his authorized representative. Compaction shall be carried out in a longitudinal direction along the carriageway and shall begin at the outer edge and progress uniformly toward the centre of each side except on super elevated curves where rolling shall begin at the lower edge an progress uniformly towards the higher edge. In all cases

compaction shall be carried out in such a manner that each section receives equal comp active effort, all to the satisfaction from the S.O or his authorized representative. The finishing road base after compaction done by the Contractor is to be neat, tidy and all the required dimension and thickness as per instructed by the S.O or his authorized representative. 10. OBSTRUCTION TO TRAFFIC The contractors shall not during the period of his cause unnecessary obstruction or nuisance to road traffic and shall at all times comply with the Highway Ordinance. 11. CONRACTORSS PLABTS / MACHINERIES The contractor is required to submit as per detail in Appendix B all the plants, machineries with the names of the plants operators. All the plants and machineries to be used for this contract shall be in road worthy condition and in possession of all necessary license and permits in accordance with the Highway Regulation. Plants and machineries which are not included in this Appendix B will not be allowed to work at the road head unless prior written permission is seek from the S.O or his authorized representative. Breakdown plants/machineries during the course of work under this contract is to removed away from site in order not to cause any road accident at the road head \. Replacement of plant/machineries to the breakdown plant is deemed necessary immediately upon receiving S.O or his authorized representative instruction. The contractor is to be solely responsible for any damage or lost of any parts of his plants/machineries on site during the whole duration of this contract. 12. INSURANCE The contractor is insure against all risk and workman compensation policy arising out of this contract. 13. SCHEDULE OF RATE The contactor is required to quote the rate for each category of work against the estimated quantity. Rates proposed must be clearly written in Summary of Quotation. 14. PAYMENT Bill of payment is to be addressed to Jurutera Bahagian JKR Samaharan. Payment shall be based on the full completion of works as required under the Contract and, to full satisfaction of the S.O. 15. REMOVAL OF BREAKDOWN AN UNDERSERVICEBLE PLANTS All the plants on site are to be in good running condition and any breakdown plants are to made good and repair to workable condition as soon as possible. Any unserviceable plants are to be removed away from site all at the expenses of contractor.

( RM120/hr x 8 hrs x 10days = RM9600 ) To provide secondary transportation services from JKR temporary stockpile at Kpg. Tebakang Melayu to proposed site. ( 1 truck = 3 M.T / trip x 10 trips each day) (3 truck x 10 days x RM250/day = RM7,500.00) 5.
