Analysis of IIFT-2004

There were 196 questions divided into four sections to be solved in 120
minutes. No specific instructions regarding sectional cutoffs were given but
there was 1/5th negative marking. The breakup and weightage of areas is as

Section 1 : Quantitative Ability

There were quite a number of questions on functions, which made this


section different from the last year's paper.

Section 2: Reasoning and Data Interpretation

The performance in this section is to a large extent dependant on Critical

Section 3: Verbal Ability

The fill in the blank questions included the missing word questions, missing
sentence questions and also a paragraph that had blanks in it.

The number of Reading Comprehension questions were less as compared to


last year's paper.

Section 4: General Knowledge

This section had a good combination of questions based on Business


Awareness and Current Affairs.

Though no specific instructions regarding Sectional performance were given


in the paper, it is expected that a student clears the above mentioned
Weighted Sectional Cutoffs. This combined with clearing net total projected
score of 68 could get a student a call from IIFT, Delhi.
