About Us:
DeWitt Perry Middle School has been a site of quality public education in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD for more than 80 years. The student body at DeWitt Perry represents the rich diversity of our community and creates a positive environment for learning and success. When possible, the Perry staff engages in interdisciplinary planning of classroom curriculum, units of study, and content projects.

A newcomer program for students who are recent arrivals to our country includes intensive development of language and culture. Perry is also the district campus for LEAP students. LEAP is an innovative, state recognized, rigorous academic program for highly gifted and talented students.

Service & Character Initiatives:


The athletic program at Perry has a strong tradition of sportsmanship and excellence. Students have the opportunity to participate in volleyball, football, basketball, track, and soccer. Perry students participate in Botball, Destination Imagination, MathCounts, Knowledge Master Open Chess Club and other clubs and UIL events nationally, state and district wide. Perry has an active Student Council and National Junior Honor Society with broad-based student representation. Students provide school leadership and participate in citizenship and community service opportunities.

Achievements:
In 2007, Perry was chosen by the National Center for Educational Accountability to be studied in an effort to identify and disseminate what higher performing schools do differently than their peers. In 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, Perry received TEA Gold Performance Acknowledgement Awards for TAKS Writing, Reading/ELA and Social Studies.
