A pilot category called Collaborative Publishing Contest shall also be held for Elementary and Secondary levels. To simulate the workplace of a publishing house, a team of seven (5-7) campus journalists who competed in the Individual Categories shall be formed from each school/district delegation. They shall be tasked to produced a four-page tabloid using MS Publisher, Pagemaker or InDesign. The finished products converted into PDF shall be uploaded to www.depedcab.ph for judging. Results of the Collaborative Publishing Contest shall be included in the computation of the overall scores. Participants in this new category shall bring with them at least one (1) laptop, a wireless internet connection (Globe, Smart or Sun) digital camera/s, and other external devices needed in transferring files from one computer unit to another. The laptop/s must be installed with any or all of the aforementioned desktop publishing applications and a PDF Converter. The articles which will be laid out in the four-page tabloid shall be written by the members of the team. The topic or coverage of the articles shall be made known before the start of the competition. 7. Since Scriptwriting & Radio Broadcasting is considered as an independent category, the competitors shall be groups of 5-7 members who are not participants in any of the individual categories enumerated herein. There shall be a separate winner in English and in Filipino. 8. For purposes of determining the real strength/inclination of student-writers, they shall be allowed to compete in not more than three (3) individual categories. However, the campus journalist who will win in more than one (1) category shall only choose one (preferably the higher rank/place) to represent the division in the 2012 Regional Schools Press Conference. 9. The top five (5) winners in the individual categories shall be selected but only the top three (3) shall advance to the regional level. In cases where one of the top three (3) winners is incapable to participate and compete in the regional level, the fourth place shall take the slot. 10.Campus journalists who will compete in Photojournalism (English & Filipino) shall pay an additional amount of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY (P120.00) for the photo processing. Digital Cameras including DSLR shall be used in the competition. However, DSLR cameras might not be allowed in the regional level. 11. School publication/school paper shall not be used as a requirement in this years press conference. However, those who will qualify for the 2012 RSPC are obliged to produce copies of their school publication. The date of submission of entries in the Group Contest (School Publication) Categories shall be announced later. 12. A registration fee of FOUR HUNDRED PESOS (P400.00) shall be collected from each participant to defray administrative and other incidental expenses in the conduct of the conference chargeable against school paper funds or other sources subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations. Participants from the private schools can have their own arrangements with their respective school administrations.
13. Inclosure No. 1 contains the Matrix of the Conference. Inclosure No. 2 enumerates the List of Lecturers/Evaluators, Facilitators & Committee Members. 14. Immediate and wide dissemination of the contents of this Memorandum is hereby enjoined.
