Our Mission is to be the premier market-driven designer, developer, and manufacturer of Smart Building Solutions. We are uncompromising in our quest to provide the most comprehensive products, technology, service, and support to the people and facilities we serve. Our Vision is to build mutually beneficial relationships with those who share our core values of Excellence, Honesty, Integrity and those who focus on exceeding the expectations of the customer. American Auto-Matrix was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in 1979 as Innovative Technology, Inc. and began as a custom engineering and consulting group manufacturing specialty electronic equipment for its European customer base. In 1982 the company became American Auto-Matrix, Inc. and introduced the AI2100 Building Brain. It was the first facilities automation system in the world to offer an open communications compatibility, protocol, distributed generation-to-generation programming. Through the years, American Auto-Matrix has positioned itself as a worldwide leader in providing Smart Building Solutions. AAM provides solutions for HVAC, Access, Lighting, Light Process and Laboratory and Fume Hood control as well as unparalleled support, service and training facilities.

American Auto-Matrix has always realized the importance of open systems architecture for Building Automation Systems. We pioneered the concept of open protocols for building automation systems in the mid 1980s with our Public Host Protocol (PHP) and Public Unitary Protocol (PUP) systems. AAM's philosophy of open communication systems finally became widely accepted and specified in the industry decades later with the emergence of BACnet and LonMark. Today American Auto-Matrix manufactures product which adheres to these industry standards and continues to lead the way in the world of open architectures. The American Auto-Matrix system architecture is built upon the notion of open protocols and backwards compatibility. Our controllers have a legacy of innovation and performance - a legacy that continues today. All of our products feature generation-to-generation compatibility, which means each new product is carefully engineered to build on and function smoothly with its predecessors. This built-in non-obsolescence means greater economy for owners and managers of buildings and networks where our products are in use. AAM Unitary controllers can operate stand-alone or networked together to form a complete system. From small stand-alone buildings, to multiple building networks, to enterprise wide applications, the AAM system offers the same level of durability, functionality, and flexibility wherever they are found. The American Auto-Matrix system can communicate and coordinate functions among multiple and differing control systems within a building or network. The AAM system interfaces directly with our Auto-Flow Laboratory and Fume Hood control system through both PUP and BACnet. In addition, our more than 30 BTL (BACnet Testing Laboratory) listed Native BACnet controllers offer an open choice. By offering systems that not only communicate with earlier Auto-Matrix legacy systems, but also with other control systems, the AAM advantage means much higher cost effectiveness, system reliability, ease of installation and fast, economical upgrades to building controls systems without vendor lock-in. End users will find our web-enabled area control solutions powerful and intuitive. The AspectFT product family enables users to monitor and control their building automation system in real time from anywhere in the world. AspectFT is a Linux and Java based runtime engine found on an array of AAM devices for small to large building control and integration applications that performs a wide variety of building management functions, including Alarm Management, Trend Management, and Scheduling. AspectFT serves user defined web pages that allow for the transfer of information through web browsers like Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari. Users can also receive critical information to their smart devices, computers, and phones through applications like Twitter, RSS, and email. AspectFT even integrates scheduling with the iCalendar protocol, giving the end-user the ability to schedule their building through familiar programs like Microsoft Outlook 2007 and Google Calendar. The power and flexibility of AAM's products, combined with backward compatibility and constant future innovation, assures our customers that American Auto-Matrix will always be their system of choice.

The Sash Position method represents a widely accepted method designed to control face velocity based on calculations con gured directly into the controller. Face velocity is controlled by calculating the ow area based on sash position and then controlling a calibrated air valve. Secondary ow feedback is also possible. The Sash Position Method uses polymer coated string pots, a linear air ow valve, and a di erential pressure switch to regulate face velocity.

Smart means our products are designed to think like people, not like machines. We continually strive to design and develop technologies for the building automation industry which change the way people think about their buildings. Our products provide comfort, safety, and cost effective design for the future. Building originates from our focus on relationships. The success of each project is based on the relationships that are developed with our Solution Integrators and their customers. This relationship is key to how well our products serve the needs of people. Solutions reflects our many technological innovations including the first to offer direct digital control (DDC) and open communication protocols, generation-to-generation compatibility, patented laboratory and fume hood controls, and access control systems, as well as unparalleled support and service to our Solution Integrators. AAM installations include places such as the American Museum of Natural History where exhibits such as Leonardo da Vinci's Codex Leicester: A Masterpiece of Science required controls to regulate climate to preserve the last privately held manuscript of Leonardo da Vinci; and the Zeiss Star Projector, one of the most advanced projectors in the world, that utilizes AAM controls to regulate temperature and humidity. Installed sites also include the University of Maryland, ranked by the Carnegie Foundation in the top tier of national research universities, which uses the Auto-Flow laboratory control system because of its unique capability to provide a total fume hood control solution that "allows for maximum efficiency and increased energy savings while providing precise temperature, humidity, and pressure control throughout the day for students and faculty alike." * Our American made products, approach to open systems, commitment to backwards compatibility, and continuous technological innovation, coupled with the best customer service and support, makes American Auto-Matrix the premier institution for Smart Building Solutions
