Know that the visiting of the Rawda is near to Waajib. Go to Madina with the exclusive intention of visiting the Rawda. Read durood shareef on the way to Madina. When reaching Madina Shareef, one should get down from the vehicle with heads down, eyes wet and if possible barefeet. Once one sees the Green Gumbad, one should read durood-o-salaam. One should think & imagine the presence of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). One should make Ghusl & wudhu and use Miswak. If possible, one should wear white clothes & apply non-alcoholic perfume One should then head in the direction of the Beloveds Rawda. One should enter Masjib-e-Nabawi in the following way: right foot first, then left, reading the dua Allahumma-f-tah li Abwaaba Rahmatik. And making niyyat of Itikaaf. With utmost respect, one should advance towards the Rawda. It is good to make salaam to someone who happens to come on the way. Never raise the voice in the masjid. Know that the Holy Prophet (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) is undoubtedly PHYSICALLY and SPIRITUALLY alive. If its time for Farz namaz, one should pray ones Farz namaz first. Otherwise, read Tahiat-ul-Masjid if its not Makrooh time for prayers. With maximum respect, one should walk towards the side facing the Blessed face of Nabi (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM). One should stand in such a manner as one stands in namaz. Ones back would be towards the Qibla and face towards the Rawda. One should have absolute faith that the Holy Prophet (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) is hearing ones salaam and replying to it too. One should not try to touch or kiss the Jali-Mubarak as this is a sign of disrespect. And now, again with veneration, one should make salaam, like: ASSALAATU WASSALAAMU ALAIKA YAA RASOOL-ALLAH (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) One should ask the Holy Prophet for his intercession for oneself, ones parents, brothers and sisters, and for all Muslims. One may say: AS-ALUKASH SHAFAA-ATA YAA RASOOL-ALLAH (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM If anyone asked you to make salaam on his/her behalf, now present the salaam to Beloved Nabi (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM).

Proceed by making salaam to the Great Caliph, Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq (RA). Then make salaam to Hazrat Umar-e-Farooq (RA). Then make salaam to both of them. Read durood shareef, make dua & cry. Then go to the Mimbar Shareef of Huzoor (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) and make dua. Then, read nafil namaz in Riyaad-ul-Jannah and thank Allah for giving you this indeed great favour. If possible, read 2 rakaat nafil namaz at specific pillars in Riyaad-ulJanaah, like Ustoon-e-Hannana. Remain steadfast in ibaadat at all times and make extra ibaadat like Tahajjud, Ishraaq, Chast, etc. Whenever entering the Masjid, one should make intention of Itikaaf. If possible, keep supererogatory (nafil) fasts, especially on Mondays & Thursdays. Try as far as possible to do good deeds as 1 good action in Madina Shareef is worth 50,000 good actions. Try to complete 1 Khatm-ul-Quraan Just as it is a form of worship to look at Kaaba Shareef, likewise it is for looking at the Rawda Mubarak. So, do look intently at the Rawda of Nabi (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM). Whenever one sees the Green Gunbad, one should utter durood shareef with respect. Make sure to read your 5 times daily namaz in Masjid-e-Nabawi itself. Dont give your back to the Rawda: pay particular attention to this even when reading namaz. Dont make tawaaf of the Rawda as tawaaf is solely meant for Kaaba shareef. Dont make sajda at/for the Rawda as Sajda is solely for Allah. One should go to Jannat-ul-Baqi and Uhud and pay reverence there. One should make fateha and dua (Iswale sawaab) there. One should go to Masjid-e-Quba and read nafil namaz there too as 2 raakaat nafil namaz there is equivalent in reward to performing 1 Umrah. On ones departure from Madinah, one should ask the permission from Huzoor (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) to leave, and make dua to come back again and again. One should also take the oath to improve oneself in the future and to spend the rest of ones life according to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM).
