NATSCI 203 Introduction to College Biology (with Family Planning) 54 3 hours/week None

Course Description: The course provides significant concepts of science as basic knowledge for science and non science majors. The study emphasizes the nature of plant and animal life but focuses in the human being, his different organizational levels and offers various logical discussions on the importance of maintaining ecological balance and what science students can do to help in reducing pollution in the vicinity. It gives comprehensive knowledge about AIDS; its mode of transmission and some precautionary measures of preventing the spread of the disease/

Course Objectives: The student as a non-major in the sciences will have a working knowledge of the underlying principles of cell structure of plants and animals, basic physiological aspects of human body systems including a look at how the environment influences our health and the balance of nature and ways of how to protect our environment by reducing pollution. Impart a comprehensive knowledge about HIV/AIDS its modes of transmission and take precautions to prevent the disease from spreading.
