Good verbal and written communication was a main factor in the completion of my degree. Written communication was needed for coursework, especially my dissertation. This was a 15, 000 research project for which I received a good mark. Verbal communication was necessary in discursive classes and group presentations. This included chairing a seminar where I had to breakdown the taught information, instigate discussion and answer questions. I also used my communication skills to

clearly explain a topic to help a struggling classmate, which aided his understanding of the subject. Problem Solving Performance management classes required the use of problemsolving and analytical skills in applying information to the business environment. One particular project was a case study whether a company should continue with a particular investment project. This involved a presentation to a mock board of directors. My group achieved the highest ever result, by taking into consideration all potential factors, having clear explanations and strong persuasion skills. Numerical and technical skills played a major part in my Accountancy degree. M y proficiency is shown through the high marks achieved. I am happy to work as a team as well as individually Teamwork was necessary in various assignments and group presentations. In groups I would take the organising role, by allocating tasks and help settle disagreements by listening to everyones views before coming to a reasonable compromise. Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Sage I am proficient in the use of Word, Powerpoint and Excel which were used to complete coursework and presentations. My knowledge of Excel was also developed as it was the main package used in my work experience. A part of my Information Systems module was to undertake a course on Sage, for which I received full marks. I keep up-to-date with the current business environment and accounting issues by reading the newspaper and the ACCA website.
