jetfloor super
The first composite suspended system for ground floors incorporating polystyrene infill blocks to provide high levels of thermal insulation. Integrated insulation means a reduced overall floor zone, effectively reducing construction costs. Rapid and easy installation. Installers benefit from speed and simplicity. Floors can be finished early in the construction process, allowing earlier drying out and faster follow-on for other trades. Provides exceptional insulation, achieving U-values as low as 0.20 (W/m2 K)

A = 40mm

B = 75mm (Thickness of underside)

The system consists of standard 150mm deep inverted T beams at a maximum of 610mm centres, infilled with expanded polystyrene (EPS) blocks. A grade 25 structural topping reinforced with A98 mesh or polypropylene fibres completes the system. EPS blocks at 550mm in length enable rapid coverage of large floor areas.

Installation is simple and there is no requirement for special skills, equipment or preparation. Services are easily accommodated by omitting blocks or trimming them with a fine toothed saw.

Reduction in floor zone

The need for sheet insulation material is removed, reducing construction heights and costs.

Jetfloor Plus
Jetfloor Plus is an alternative system which comprises inverted T beams infilled with purpose made expanded polystyrene (EPS) blocks, finished with either a floating 18mm thick chipboard layer, or, 65mm sand/cement screed. The thermal performance of both Jetfloor Super and Jetfloor Plus can help significantly in meeting the needs and the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations.

beam and block

The traditional and cost effective suspended flooring system for ground and upper storeys.

Economical in use in all types of construction. Fast and easy to install. Unaffected by damp, rot or vermin. Allows longer spans than can be achieved with timber joists, often eliminating the need for intermediate foundations.

Specification
The system consists of inverted T beams infilled with standard concrete blocks. The beams, produced in standard profiles to give nominal depths of 150mm - 225mm, are manufactured in 50mm increments and are usually placed at approximately 520mm and/or 295mm centres depending on span and load. Beams are positioned perpendicular to the end supports with a nominal bearing of 100mm to each end when supported by brick or block work. A 75mm minimum bearing is required when supported by steelwork. Initial spacing is achieved by infill blocks at each end and the flooring grade blocks are inserted from above between the beams. The completed floor is then grouted using a 4:1 sharp sand/cement mixture.

The ideal choice for first floors in houses

Pre-cast beam and block floors are an ideal choice for first floors in houses. Fire resistance exceeds that offered by most alternatives; sound insulation is excellent; the system is squeak free; and, because the system can act as a thermal store, high insulation values can be easily achieved.

Installation is simple and fast, and no special skills are required. The system provides a safer working platform for the construction process and maintenance costs, associated with shrinkage and warping which can affect alternative systems, are eliminated.

hollowcore flooring units

Prestressed hollowcore units are the ideal solution for all suspended floor applications especially where a clear spanning durable deck is required. Clear, unpropped spans up to 13.0m Can be used on masonry, steel or concrete structures Fast to erect and units provide an immediate working platform Service holes and notches can be preformed Excellent sound and fire resistant properties
The Hanson range of hollowcore units is now the most extensive available to the UK market. Units are manufactured in a range of widths increasing the versatility and scope of the product and enabling flooring solutions to be tailored to specific projects. All units are designed in accordance with BS 8110 and are prestressed during manufacture. When concreted together hollowcore units can provide diaphragm action without structural topping, but enhanced structural performance is achieved by using a composite structural topping. The structural properties of the hollowcore units rely on the prestressing strands cast into the lower half of the units. The number of strands and degree of prestress determines the ultimate load/span capacity of the units. Comprehensive technical advice and design assistance is available to customers. All units are machine produced ensuring consistently high quality and the steel beds produce a smooth, regular soffit.

Fast to erect, acts as fully participating permanent formwork, saving time and money Exceptional flexibility each panel can be designed to suit a specific location and load Irregular shaped buildings easily accommodated Service holes etc formed and positioned during manufacture Smooth level soffit suitable for direct decoration An ideal and cost effective solution where progressive collapse design is required

Omnia variations
Products in the Omnia flooring range also include: Omnicore - panels with polystyrene void formers fixed in place to reduce the overall self-weight of the slab. Omniedge - perimeter edge formwork cast into relevant panels. Omnitherm - panels with a 25mm layer of insulation fixed to the soffit, substantially reducing the U value of the floor. Omnilite - light weight aggregate is utilised to provide weight savings of over 20%.

Soffits Omnia panels provide an excellent flat finish to the soffit. Direct decoration with paint or a textured finish is perfectly feasible.

Omnidec

Omnia bridge deck

The girder is cut to size and attached to a lower layer of reinforcement. Concrete is then poured to create the pre-cast Omnia panel. The Omnia lattice girder ensures a mechanical bond between pre-cast and in-situ concrete. Omnia panels offer major site advantages when used as fully participating permanent formwork. Standard wideslab panels are 2.40m wide (although smaller panels can be manufactured to meet specific requirements). The panels are manufactured in depths from 50mm to 75mm and, dependent on loadings and overall slab depth, spans of over 11.0m can be achieved. Omnia wideslab flooring is manufactured at a dedicated plant in Washington, Tyne and Wear. The design department at Washington works with specifiers and engineers to ensure that every Omnia panel is produced to meet its specific span and load conditions. In addition to its application in flooring, Omnia is also used as a highly efficient and cost effective means of providing fully participating, permanent formwork to deck slabs of bridges. Because it is easy to handle and simple to install, Omnia bridge deck is widely used in the construction of bridges over roads, rail tracks or rivers where the speed of installation minimises road and line closures. Omnia bridge decking has been used successfully throughout the UK on road and rail bridges varying from 100m2 to 10,000m2. Comprehensive technical and engineering design services for Omnia products are provided from our Washington office.

All Omnia panels incorporate the triangular Omnia lattice girder, manufactured from cold drawn wire with a characteristic strength of 500kN/mm2.
