AT: Immigration DA
Case Outweighs
A. Magnitude: famine and water wars affect billions of people, and have historically happened as well as
currently which CAUSES economic collapse and resource wars, and extinction. The only impacts they give
to compare against ours are that of the insert impact]. However the neg can`t even access these impacts
because we completely don`t link to the disadvantage whatsoever.
Timeframe: We have proven that water wars and famine have happened in the past and can occur at any
moment now.
Probability: We have a 100 percent chance of our impacts occurring. Landsat 7 is currently in
space preventing our impacts from occurring. Once it fails we will have no efficient method of
tracking water and crop yields causing the impacts.
B. Moreover their impacts of warming, ozone, and loss of biodiversity are in comparison less important
than ours
1. Extend our Postal and Wolf 1 card and Peterson 99 card that warrant that water wars will escalate
and billions of people are at risk without Landsat presence.
2. Extend our Smith 98 card and AFP 2k8 card that specifically state that food shortages escalate and
lead to multiple scenarios for war without the plan.
3. Lastly, extend our Diner 94 card that assert that loss of Bio-D causes extinction

Republicans oppose immigration reform now
Robinson, 11. (Dan Robinson is the chief White House correspondent at Voice of America. May 10, 2011, ~Obama Challenges
Republicans on Immigration Reform. http://www.voanews.com/english/news/usa/Obama-in-Texas-Challenges-Republicans-on-Immigration-
ReIorm-121602099.html, )
President Barack Obama used the backdrop oI the U.S-Mexico border on Tuesday Ior a major speech ampliIying his calls
Ior bipartisan reIorm oI U.S. immigration laws. Facing continuing opposition Irom congressional Republicans on how
best to achieve comprehensive reIorm, Mr. Obama is trying to elevate the debate about Iinding a solution to what most agree is a broken
immigration system. On Tuesday, he traveled to El Paso, Texas, a major crossing point on the more than 3,100 -kilometer border with Mexico. As
in other southwest states, illegal immigration is a hot topic in Texas where the percentage oI the population that is Hispanic increased by
43 percent over the past decade. In remarks aIter touring a cargo Iacility at the Bridge oI the Americas, Mr. Obama listed steps he has taken
to strengthen border security and cut down on illegal crossings, and said his administration has answered concerns
voiced by opposition Republicans. "We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they
supported broader reIorm as long as we got serious about enIorcement," said President Obama. "All the stuII they asked Ior, we have
done." Watch a related report by Kent Klein: BrieIing reporters this week, senior administration oIIicials detailed those steps, which include
more than doubling the number oI border patrol agents to 20,700, and a plan to extend deployment oI National Guard troops. The administration
has increased cooperation with Mexico in Iighting drug cartel violence, intensiIied screening oI rail and vehicle traIIic, and nearly completed
construction oI a 1200 kilometer border Ience. OIIicials also point to increased illegal drug and weapons seizures, and a 36 percent drop in illegal
immigration attempts. In El Paso, Mr. Obama repeated his call Ior Republicans to join him in Iinding common ground to
enable a bipartisan solution to immigration reIorm. "So, the question is whether those in Congress who previously walked away in the
name oI enIorcement are now ready to come back to the table and Iinish the work that we have started," said Obama. "We have got to put the
politics aside, and iI we do, I am conIident we can Iind common ground."

Obama`s political capital is at its highest since inauguration
White 5/8, Deborah White, May 8, 2011.
http://usliberals.about.com/b/2011/05/08/obama-to-use-post-bin-laden-political-capital-on-immigration-reIorm.htm
Now that the President Obama's political capital is at its highest point since his 2009 inauguration, expect immigration reIorm
to be a pressing priority oI the Obama administration. Post-bin Laden and post-birth certiIicate silliness, President Obama is
riding high in public Iavor. Very high, and likely never higher with conservatives, the voter group most adamantly opposed to
loosening U.S. immigration laws. To win reelection in 2012, President Obama must energize and draw a heIty majority oI
votes Irom two particular demographic groups: youth, especially college students, and Latinos.

the American public believes increases spending will stimulate the economy
Lind 10 (Michael, Policy Director of the Economic Growth Program at the New America
Foundation in Washington, D.C, ~The American people want more government spending,
Salon Magazine, 7/6/10,
http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/feature/2010/07/06/spending_public_opinion)
The new conventional wisdom in Washington is that more spending to promote job creation is out
oI the question, because the public has changed its priorities and is obsessed with the danger oI
Iederal deIicits. Really? What public? The Paraguayan public? The Moroccan public? The actual
views oI the American people are at odds with the corporate media`s portrayal oI a nation oI
deIicit hawks. According to a June 11-13 USA Today/Gallup Poll, 60 percent oI Americans Iavor
"additional government spending to create jobs and stimulate the economy." Only 38 percent oI
the respondents opposed the proposal, while 2 percent had no opinion. Federal deIicits are an
obsession with American elites, including many establishment Democrats. But deIicit reduction is
not the leading priority oI the American people. In another USA Today/Gallup Poll, taken March
26-28, the list oI issues considered 'extremely important by voters was headed by the economy
(57 percent), Iollowed by healthcare (49 percent) and unemployment (46 percent). The Iederal
budget deIicit came in Iourth, at 45 percent. Note to the Obama administration and Congress:
Fewer than halI oI Americans think that the Iederal budget deIicit is an 'extremely important
issue.

President Barack Obama says he backs immigration reform, announcing last month an initiative to ease
deportation policies, but he has sent home over 1 million illegal immigrants in 2-1/2 years -- on pace to
deport more in one term than George W. Bush did in two.
O'Toole 9/20/11 (http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/09/20/us-obama-immigration-idUSTRE78J05720110920)
The Obama administration had deported about 1.06 million as oI September 12, against 1.57 million in Bush's
two Iull presidential terms. This seeming contradiction between rhetoric and reality is a key element oI
debate over U.S. immigration policy, and stakes are high Ior 2012's presidential election as Obama Iaces
criticism Irom both conservatives and liberals.

Fewer Illegal Immigrants even want to come to the U.S.
Moore 9/15/11 (http://www.thedailybeast.com/cheats/2011/11/15/Iewer-illegal-immigrants-coming-in.html)
Fewer Mexicans are immigrating illegally across the border into the United States as Iewer jobs, harsher
border control, and threats against leaving Irom violent Mexican gangs have made the trek to the U.S.
less and less appealing. At the peak in 2000, 1.6 million people were arrested attempting to cross the border
illegally over an 11-month period. Over the 11-month period that ended in August 2011, that number dropped to
304,755. Mexico itselI is Ieeling a change, as its interior secretary Ior migration matters noted that "our country is
not experiencing the population loss due to migration that was seen nearly 50 years ago."

The new 2012 reform is soon to follow the fate of the Dream Act
Clarissa Martinez de Castro, Director of Immigration and National Campaigns for the National Council of La
Raza10/12/11http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/09/20/us-obama-immigration-idUSTRE78J05720110920)
Obama Iell short on his promise to have a comprehensive reIorm bill in Congress in his Iirst year. And
despite his push oI the DREAM Act in 2010, that bill Iailed in the Senate at the end oI the Democrat-run
111th Congress. Martinez de Castro continues, Congress is unlikely to consider immigration reIorm any
time soon

-This turns the entire DA. Obama has no fundamental stance in the eyes of those being effected by the
reform and the current Director of immigration and National Campaigns for the National Council of La
Raza does not favor the reform whatsoever, not even the National immigration centers see value in this bill
nor do the republicans. Due to the fact that Obama is relying on bipartisanship, and Hispanic individual
advocacies to help his reform and he can`t get that this bill will go absolutely nowhere. Game over
