A company with a future cant be managed without taking into account the informat ion technology systems. Stated otherwise, the digitalization of the company is o ne of the conditions necessary to ensure viability in the future. It has been clearly demonstrated that the intelligent and efficient use of techn ology information facilitates increased productivity and better exploitation of knowledge of the company, a fact that enhances the competitiveness of the natio nal and international environment. However, the simple installation of systems information in the company doesnt a utomatically guarantee increased productivity and knowledge sharing among its me mbers. Thus, although it is obvious that automating records is more efficient (in terms of costs) that make them by hand, the computerization of this process does little to make the company more compet itive. Instead, the application of information technology to increase the effici ency of critical processes, where the main value is generated for the client, ma y have important consequences. That is, the automation of routine processes, such as registers management, simp lifying the administrative management of the company, but not a prerequisite for improving their competitiveness if not accompanied by the application of inform ation technologies in the processes, flows work of the core business activity. Therefore, the digitization of the company must understand how the application o f information technology value chain. Success in this venture requires different approaches, such as those that subsequently develop. 1.) Selecting the information technologies most appropriate for the company The company must know very well what technologies are available in the market an d make a key reading of the business. That is, one must understand the possibili ties offered by technology and then think about how these technologies can trans form both the business and the basis functions. 2.) Designing and implementing enterprise information technology efficiently and intelligently The company has to understand that information technology is not a simple story, but they are a business strategy. There is necessarily a learning curve in the exploitation of technologies in the enterprise. Learning to use differential form of the knowledge that the company has to be bu ilt. The company can call on specialists to design and implement their informati on systems, but it is important to develop its own model of exploitation of info rmation technologies in an efficient and intelligent. These technologies are onl y one tool and its use is what differentiates the business from the others. This is already an innovation economy. In the case of new building industries, i nnovation is the development of new products and success depends on the diffusio n and acceptance of these new products by the market. In the case of established industries, the products have reached their level of commoditization, ie have a standard design that all competitors use, and innovation has to come primarily from improved processes. In both cases, p product innovation in improving proces ses, information technologies are proven to be very useful tools.
