Job Title: Associate/Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Location: Hyderabad, India

Background: Test Engineering at Pegasystems starts before one line of code is written. Traditional Quality Assurance at most software firms starts too late after features are built and that leads to quality problems. Test Engineering turns that approach on its head by infusing testing disciplines into the Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition phases of an Agile software development model.

Pegasystems is looking for Software Development Engineers in Test (SDET) to grow a local Test Engineering team at our brand new Engineering center in Hyderabad. The Test Engineering SDET will take part in the design of new product features as a member of a wider cross functional team of product managers, developers and 3rd party testers. He/she is responsible for converting requirements into Test Design, Test Cases and Test Execution for the product new features. He/she is responsible for designing and developing automated tools or frameworks for Test coverage. Pegasystems welcome professionals who have performed SDET role in the past to apply. Prior Testing experience is desired but not mandatory for this position. Software Developers (who does not have prior testing experience or having minimal testing experience) but passionate to take an SDET role are also encouraged to apply. Critical Competencies

Thoroughly understand the new product features being implemented in Sprints and be able to produce test designs and test cases for the product areas involved. 2. 4. Develop the required Test frameworks and tools to automate the in-sprint testing for Scrum teams using Java, XML and related technologies. Functional Expertise Required 1 to 5 years of experience in software development or in an SDET (software development in Test) kind of role. Inclined to work as part of highly motivated and innovative Test engineering team and contribute in achieving the business, technical and operational goals of the company. Ability to translate functional requirements into detailed test design scenarios and test cases. PRPC System Architect Certification needs to be attained within 6 months of taking this position.

Desired Implementation experience working with companies in BPM, CRM or Workflow automation space. Prior experience in manual or automated testing.

Technical Expertise: It is required to have hands-on experience in at least ONE of the following areas though it is desired to have knowledge in more than one area Strong Proficiency in OOPS, Java, and XML. Strong knowledge and experience with Web based applications and testing using browsers. Experience with Test automation and performance engineering tools like QTP, Load runner etc. Experience in testing complex product APIs, JUnit testing, core product engines, clustered scenarios, SAAS model etc., Exposure to Web-Services, WSDL, SOAP, MQ, JMS, Configuration and troubleshooting Integration Services deployments within large scale distributed organizations. Strong Knowledge and experience in one or more Relational Databases; SQL-Server, Oracle and DB2. Experienced with IDE (Eclipse), Tomcat/Websphere/Weblogic, Oracle/MSSQL/DB2 and related tools. Ability to test XML based Java APIs involving complex code. Knowledge of Application Security, Vulnerability Assessments and Code Scan tools. Knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX and related toolkits. Knowledge of industry specifications for WSDL, SOAP and WS-* and tools like SOAPUI Pro Knowledge of Search techniques and related algorithms; encryption algorithms.
