STANDARDS SPECIFICATIONS
The Cat. No. 57000-M3S 7-Mode Panel Mount Surged Protective Device (SPD) is designed for use on AC power lines. The Cat. No. 57000-M3S is backed by Levitons 5year Limited Warranty. This device has been tested to ANSI/IEEE C62.41 standards for Categories A,B, and C environments. FUNCTIONAL AND PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR CAT. NO. 57000-M3S

Modular ConceptThe Cat. No. 57000-M3S Panel Mounts are built around four removable single-phase modules. They are available in AC powerline WYE configurations rated 120/208 and 277/480 Volts. ModulesPanel Mount modules are available in 120 Volt and 277 Volt models. See TABLE 1. They feature a parallel (across-the-line) hybrid design, incorporating solid-state semiconductor components. The phase modules include diagnostic LED circuitry described below. All modules are keyed to prevent inadvertent insertion of an incorrect line voltage configuration module in the module board. Module BoardThe Cat. No. 57000-M3S Panel Mount SPD module board is available for 3-phase systems with one active module per phase. See TABLE 1. The board provides a plug-in feature to facilitate easy insertion and removal of modules for installation, maintenance or replacement purposes. Diagnostic LED CircuitryWhen the Cat. No. 57000-M3S Panel Mount SPD is in a power ON state, the active L-N and L-G module LEDs illuminate and are clearly visible, indicating the system is active and functioning properly. Failure of an LED indicates loss or damage to the SPD protection circuit and signals the need for module replacement. Remote Supervision of DiagnosticsThe Cat. No. 57000-M3S Panel Mount is capable of incorporating an optically-coupled sensing circuit option, which when utilized will permit monitoring of the module SPD and/or power status from a remote site via a Remote Supervisor package (Leviton Cat. No. 52000-RS, Remote Supervisor). This option, offered by Leviton, is available upon special order. The housing and board incorporate the necessary connectors to utilize this option. In addition, the unit provides Form C (1 N.O. and 1 N.C.) relay contacts for remote monitoring via a three-position terminal block. Performance SPD performance is determined per phase on an individual basis by tests listed below:
