Installation
To mount the thermostat remove the thermostat cover by removing the white
screw cover (located in the center of the thermostat cover) and the cover screw. Secure the base unit to the wall. Be sure to feed the electrical wiring (18-2) through the provided slot in the base unit and connect to appropriate terminal block(s). Replace the cover, cover screw and screw cover.

Change Configuration Menu Parameters

Press OK to toggle the parameter setting or edit the value. If the value starts to blink use + / - keys to adjust this value. Press + / - keys at the same time to reset this value to the factory default value. Once you have adjusted the value press OK to validate this parameter value.

If floor sensing is desired, make sure the floor sensor is connected to the corresponding floor sensor terminals (labeled NTC, the first two terminals on the left terminal block). It may be necessary to adjust the J6 setting. See wiring diagrams for details. Change batteries when the Low Battery indicator appears on the display. Batteries can be changed before indicator appears if necessary.

Configuration Example
Configuring the floor temperature limit with external sensor in a hardwood floor application where the temperature cannot exceed 78F (25.5C). 1. Enter the configuration menu by pressing OK button for 5 seconds or longer. 2. Press the + or - buttons until J6 is visible on the display. 3. Press OK button to enter the configuration parameter level change. 4. Change configuration parameter to AF (Air and floor sensor active) by pressing + or - buttons. In this case the floor sensor works as a limiting sensor. 5. Confirm the selection by pressing the OK button. 6. Navigate to menu item FH to set the high limit temperature of 78F (25.5C) and press OK to confirm the configuration parameter level change. 7. Press the + or - buttons until the desired value of 78F (25.5C) is displayed. 8. Press OK button to confirm the selection. 9. When configuration is done navigate to the End menu item and press OK button to exit the configuration menu.

Modes of Operation
Operational Modes are selected using the three button controlled, on-screen menu by repeatedly pressing the OK button. Comfort Setting describes desired normal day time temperature settings. Setback Mode reduces the Comfort temperature to the reduced temperature. With an external timer, Comfort and Setback modes can be overridden.

Comfort Mode Force comfort temperature operation indefinitely. By pressing +/- keys
the comfort temperature setting starts to blink and may be adjusted.

Setback Mode
Force reduced temperature operation indefinitely. By pressing +/- keys the reduced temperature setting starts to blink and may be adjusted.

Timer Mode
Thermostat will follow the external timer signal. Blinking to indicate a comfort signal. Blinking to indicate a reduced signal.

Display

Configuring Thermostat
The Dual Sensing Thermostat can be configured for nearly all applications in heating or cooling systems. The thermostat must be configured for the desired system setup through the on-screen configuration menu.

Enter/Exit Configuration Menu

Press the OK button for more than 5 seconds to enter the configuration menu, Then use + or - keys to select the configuration parameter to be adjusted. When finished adjusting the parameters, use + / - keys to switch menu items until the End item is being displayed and then press OK to exit the configuration menu. 1. Operating mode menu 2. J0: C/F Temperature display section. J1: Hot/Cold regulation mode. Select Hot for Heating, Cold for cooling. Hot: opens actuator when temperature rises above setpoint. Cold: closes actuator when temperature closes below setpoint. Cy: Proportional Integral regulation time cycle, value in minutes (default: 15 minute cycle). This setting adjusts how frequently the control monitors the sensor readings. Lower mass systems (frame floor applications) can loose heat faster than high mass systems (slabs) and may require a faster cycle time. bp: Proportional Integral regulation band amplitude value in degrees C/F (default: 2.0C/3.6F). J4: NO/NC Normally Open or Normally Close actuator selection. NC: If using an isolation relay and/or a relay box. NO: if connecting to a Watts Zone Valve control. J5: Select PMP (Pump Maintenance Program) to perform a 1 minute exercise everyday. Use this setting to allow the thermostat to cycle the circulator for 1 minute every day. This setting helps maintain lubrication during no-heat periods. J6: Air: Air (room) setpoint. Displays air temperature with floor low (FL) and high (FH) limits. Flr: Floor (external sensor) setpoint. Displays floor temperature without floor low/high limits. Air temperature is not a control boundary. J7: rEG (proportional Integral) or HYs (0.3C Hysteresis) regulation type selection. rEG is preferred setting for use with radiant applications. HYs is preferred setting for use with forced air or other convection systems. Cp: Proportional Integral regulation temperature compensation value in C/F (default: 2.0C/3.6F). Adjusts the calibration between the displayed temperature reading and the calibrated temperature reading. Do not adjust this value unless necessary. Ao: Air Sensor offset adjustment (default: no offset), display measure air sensor value. Adjust the display reading to match the air sensor reading. Fo: Floor sensor offset adjustment (default: no offset), display measure floor sensor value. Adjust the display reading to match the floor sensor reading. FL: Floor temperature LOW limitation (default: 5C/41F), effective only if floor sensor present and set J6 to Air. This setting keeps the floor from dropping below the designated temperature. FH: Floor temperature HIGH limitation (default: 28C/82F), effective only if floor sensor present and set J6 to Air. This setting keeps the floor from rising above the designated temperature. CLr: Press OK to reset to factory defaults. End: Press OK to exit installation parameters.
