COURSE DESCRIPTION: Industrial automation is widely employed now-a-days, using pneumatic,

hydraulic, electrical/electronics and computer systems. The modern engineering is incomplete without
the knowledge of automation and control systems.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES: The word automation means different things to different people. This
course deals mainly with the automation of mechanical industrial production systems. Further more it
concentrates on the concepts of flexible automation, low cost automation and automation accessories
(hydraulic & pneumatic) with their design for automation.
