Emerson Network Power Bolsters Channel PartnersSolutions Portfolio for SMBs in Southeast Asia
Singapore [May 21, 2009] In line with its strategy of bringing its enterprise-class solutions experience to the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market, Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE:EMR) and the global leader in enabling Business-CriticalContinuityannouncedthatitwillcollaborate with its channel partners in Southeast Asia to provide precision cooling solutions to its customerstoughest thermal challenges. Designed for small equipment rooms and network closets, the Liebert DM solves the thermal challenges, brought by new computing requirements and high-density equipment that comfort cooling systems fail to address. We have been working side by side with our trusted channel partners and are excited about this opportunity to extend our relationship to address this critical issue facing SMBs, said John Parikh, director of product management for Emerson Network Power Asia Pacific. Precision cooling systems are designed and sized to specifically meet the increasing demands for heat rejection, humidity control, filtration and other requirements in data centres and other high availability computer facilities. Comfort cooling systems, meanwhile, are only suited to facilities that are occupied by people or routine equipment and supplies. According to Parikh, some end users make the oversight of throwing in more comfort cooling to cool the heat in the computer room. However, adding more cooling units that run at a lower sensible heat factor is a completely inefficient way to deal with the problem. Mission-critical infrastructures, regardless of their size, should have their own independent cooling system. The needs of a data centre are unique and require specific solutions. The Liebert DM enables SMBs to speed up blade deployment, save energy costs, optimize IT space and lower total cost of ownership (TCO). The cooling system removes sensible heat energy and seals the equipment room from dust and moisture. Moreover, it provides high reliability with the ease of service, sophisticated control and redundancy necessary to keep the facility up and running 24x365. Emerson makes the industrys widest range of precision environment control systems. Its precision cooling technology has been proven in thousands of critical data centers around the world, and has been in the field for over40years.
