General ILP Queries

1 Request you to take a print of the invitation email sent to you previously giving the reference id and
password in case you are unable to view and print the hall ticket.

You may produce these documents along with the identification proof and copies of your mark sheet on the
day of the test and after verification of your details against TCS database, you shall be allowed to appear for
the test.

2 Connect with your Recruiting Branch.

3 Upload the resume on the TCS Recruitment Portal <www.careers.tcs.com>.

4 Connect with your Recruiting Branch

5 Email/call & update us in case there is any change in your address, contact/mobile nos., email address, etc.

6 Email/call & inform us so that we can update our database and it will in turn be rectified at the time of your
ILP.

7 Travel expenses need to be borne by the trainee. TCS ensures that you are intimated of the ILP Joining
date at least 20 days in advance so there is sufficient time to book your ticket to the ILP and also complete
the documentation required for joining TCS

8 No. The ILP dates cannot be rescheduled.

9 No. The ILP center mentioned in your Joining Letter is non-negotiable.

Also, your posting can be at any of the TCS centers purely on project requirement basis and not on personal
requests. This posting will be decided by TCS on successful completion of your ILP training

10 The joining letter annexure will contain a bird‟s eyeview of the course and the details shall be conveyed
during the ILP induction on joining.

11 The duration of the ILP is of 25 days.

12 The acceptance letter has to be sent within 7 days of the receipt of the joining letter on the address
mentioned below.

Pls. note that you will not receive the confirmation of the receipt of the acceptance letter.

13 Original as well as the attested documents should be carried to the ILP Centre. The Originals will be
returned back after verification on the same day. TCS will only retain attested copies of the documents as a
part of your Personal File. This attestation is mandatory and can only be done by a competent authority. The
documents can be attested by anyone of the following authorities:

 Manager of a nationalized bank where the candidate holds an account.

 District Collector of the district in which the candidate resides
 Gazetted Officers
 Tehsildar of the village

All the Personal Documents should be submitted at the ILP centre on the day of joining. Pls refer to the
Joining Letter annexure for the details on the documents to be submitted at the time of joining.

14 Trainees can attend the ILP by submitting the Course Completion Certificate issued by the Head or Director
of the college/institute in case you do not have the Provisional Certificate. However, this is a temporary
arrangement and the Provisional Certificate should be submitted before the completion of the ILP. The mark
sheet may be submitted as and when you obtain it.

Accommodation Related Queries

15 Accommodation will be provided by TCS for the period of the training and the rent towards the same will be
deducted from your HRA (House Rent Allowance)

You will receive an email giving complete details of the accommodation one week prior to your ILP
Schedule. In case you do not receive the e-mail, kindly connect with your ILP center four days in advance.
The contact number of the training centre is mentioned in the joining letter.

Kindly note that accommodation is provided two days prior to the ILP date and is available only for the
trainees and is on a sharing basis. It is mandatory to use accommodation provided by TCS during the
course of ILP. You can directly report at the accommodation place two days prior to the ILP.
Accommodation is available 24X7.

16 Food is available at subsidized rates and expenses towards the same have to be borne by the trainees.
Queries on Birth Certificate

17 Kindly note that the birth certificate is a mandatory document. In case of non availability of the same, you are
requested to apply for it at the nearest Municipal Corporation.

As a temporary arrangement you may produce an affidavit (in English) of your X passing certificate on Rs.
10/- Stamp paper containing your correct name, place and date of birth. You may submit the original birth
certificate as and when you obtain it.
Pls note that that you can connect with any local lawyer for the affidavit.

18 Kindly note that in case you do not have your name on the Birth certificate, you need to make an Affidavit (in

English) of your X passing certificate containing your correct name, place and date of birth. However the
birth certificate is a mandatory document, you need to submit both the documents i.e. the original birth
certificate and the Affidavit at the time of your ILP training.
Pls note that that you can connect with any local lawyer for the affidavit.

OR

If the Birth Certificate does not contain the name, you will have to get the birth certificate revised from the
concerned authority.

19 Trainees will have to get their other documents aligned with the birth date mentioned in the birth certificate
since TCS considers birth certificate as a legitimate document

20 Kindly note that you will have to translate the certificate in English and make an affidavit of the English
document. However both the documents i.e. the original birth certificate (non-English) and the affidavit have
to be submitted

Kindly note that you can produce Domicile certificate as your date and place of birth proof.

Note: An Affidavit is a written declaration made by a notary public or other authorized officer and can be
obtained by a local lawyer.

22 In case of absence of ration card, you may produce a copy of the leave and license agreement / ownership
agreement of the house you are staying in / a society letter on the letter head of the building/society stating
that you are a resident of the place or else you can provide a government telephone or electricity bill.

23 You may provide a copy of the leave and license / ownership agreement of the house you are staying in / a
society letter on the letter head of the building/society stating that you are a resident of the place and the
address proof of your permanent residence.
 In case if you are staying with the relative, your relative needs to obtain a society letter stating that they are
a resident of the society and you are staying with them

24 You may not provide the Passport details as a part of the BGC documents. However you need to apply for a
passport and provide the details as and when you obtain it

25 The above mentioned columns have to be left blank. Recruitment branch will be the TCS branch office name
which visited your campus or through which you were recruited

Queries on Service Agreement

26 You will need to use a Rs. 100 stamp paper. The first page of the service agreement, provided to you with
the joining letter, should be typed on the Rs. 100 stamp paper. You can attach the remaining pages as it is
to the stamp paper. The service agreement need not be notarized and can be submitted as it is

In case of non availability of Rs.100 stamp papers, trainees can opt for 2 stamp papers of Rs. 50 or 5 stamp
papers of Rs.20. Alternatively in case of non availability of any stamp paper candidates can opt for Franking
- Impression of Stamps. Kindly note that incase there is no sufficient place for the matter to be fitted on the
first page, you can condense the matter by reducing the font.

The stamp paper has to be purchased in the name of the trainee.

27 The duration of the Service Agreement is of two years

28 The agreement has to be signed by only one surety. A Surety can be any individual including parents &
relatives provided he is an Income Tax payee/ possesses landed property.

A retired employee filing an Income Tax Return & has a pan card can also stand as a surety.

Kindly note that as long as the surety conforms to the requirements of being a surety, any person can be
surety.

29 In case the surety is an Income tax payee, then the Original or attested photocopy of LATEST Form 16 (for
salaried individuals) else Form 2 D (for self-employed individuals) / IT Returns (acknowledged copy of IT
Assessment order copy)

OR

In case the surety is not an Income Tax Payee, then submit Original/ attested photocopy of the Surety‟s Land
Deed / Land Passbook along with a recent Valuation certificate of the property (in English only) duly signed
and sealed by the competent authority (Civil Authorities, Architect, Tehsildar)

As for the Surety Verification Form, if your surety’s signature on the PAN card is different than that on
the service agreement as he has changed his signature OR if the surety fills ITR but his income is below
the tax limit then kindly submit the ITR.

Pls bring only the attested copies of the surety verification documents at the time of ILP.
30 Kindly note that the Land Deed or Land Passbook along with a recent Valuation certificate of the property
must be in English. If the Land book is not in English get it translated and make an Affidavit of the translated
or English certificate. However both the documents have to be submitted at the time of your training i.e. the
original Land book as well as the Affidavit &. original valuation certificate (non-English) and the affidavit have
to be submitted

If the Thasildar is not providing the value certificate and if the registered paper contains the market value of
the land then you may submit it as a proof of surety along with the land deed

31 Kindly note that you should opt for either surety or bond.

In case you are not able to arrange for a surety then submit a Fixed Deposit in the trainee's name, for an
amount of Rs. 50,000/- deposited in any of the nationalized banks. The FD should be 'Assigned to Tata
Consultancy Services Ltd'. The FD certificate has to be submitted on the day of joining ILP. The FD along
with the interest will be returned to the candidate after completion of two years of service with TCS.

The FD should bear the words “Assigned to Tata Consultancy Services Ltd ". OR. The Bank Manager
needs to give a letter on the letter head of the bank stating that the rights of the FD shall lie with TCS for the
next two years starting with the ILP date also mentioning that if the bond is broken the FD will be taken over
by TCS.

Kindly note that if you want to back out the entire bond, the amount of Rs. 50,000/- will be taken up by TCS.

THIS TRAINING AGREEMENT made at Mention Place where the agreement is made this Mention ILP Date e.g.

Consultancy Services LIMITED, a company incorporated under the Companies Act 1956 (hereinafter referred to as

“TCS”) and having its Corporate Office at Air India Building, 11 Floor, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 of the First
Part and Mention Name of Trainee an Indian Inhabitant, residing at Mention Place and having permanent address
at Mention Trainees’ Address (hereinafter referred to as “The Trainee”) of the Second Part AND Mention Surety’s
Name (hereinafter referred to as “The Surety”) which expression shall be deemed to include his/her executor, heir
and administrator of the Third Part.

WHEREAS TCS is involved in the business of problem solving or consultancy and as of present and the
foreseeable future specifically in the business of Computer and Management Consultancy – offering services and
products both in

India and abroad.

WHEREAS the possession of the above problem solving techniques and effective use of high technologies
equipment can be acquired mainly through Training.

Sign of Surety
 WHEREAS the training is of duration of Mention ILP Training Days months and is liable to be extended by
a further duration based on the performance of the Trainee during the Training, of which TCS shall be the sole judge.

WHEREAS the above mentioned training involves considerable expenditure – both direct and indirect,
financial and unliquidated – related to faculty, computer time, support facilities, salary of the Trainee while under
training.

WHEREAS this training substantially improves the Trainee‟s professional standing and it has been imparted
by TCS at considerable expenditure as an investment. TCS expects a commitment (elaborated below) from the
employee to recover its expenditure or seek a penalty for non-fulfillment of the same.

WHEREAS the expenditure involved in training the employee is several times in excess of the penalty
demanded from him/her.

IT IS NOW HEREBY AGREED AS UNDER:

1. In consideration of the training to be imparted by TCS to the Trainee, the Trainee undertake to serve TCS or
any of its associated or affiliated companies to which he/she may be transferred for a minimum period of
Mention 2 Years from the date of joining TCS and he/she agrees not to take employment with any other
person, firm or company during such period. The Trainee is giving this undertaking in view of the
considerable expenditure incurred by TCS of him/her.

Option 2 needs to be filled only in case you do not have a surety & would be submitting a FD.

2. By way of guarantee for due performance of all the terms and conditions contained in the Agreement,
he/she has deposited in the name of TCS a sum of Rs.50, 000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) with the
Mention Name of Bank Bank / Mention FD Number For a period of Two Years bearing interest at Mention
Interest Rate of FD per cent, and the relative Bank receipt is attached. If she/he faithfully serves TCS shall
refund the deposit amount of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) with interest thereon to him/her.

OR

3. By way of guarantee for due performance of all terms and conditions contained in this agreement, he/she
provide herein below the name of his/her near relative / person in order of preference and who have
consented by signing herein below to stand as Surety on his/her behalf to ensure compliance of the
aforesaid covenant, and that in the event of failure/neglect to fulfill any of the terms of this undertaking of
which TCS shall be the sole judge and he/she shall be liable to pay TCS Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty
Thousand only) as compensation with interest thereon at Leave Blank percent p.m. OR his/her Surety
mentioned below

4. In the event of any dispute or disagreement over the interpretation of any of the terms hereinabove
contained or any claim of liability of any part including the Surety the same shall be referred to a person to
be nominated by TCS whose decision shall be final and binding upon the parties hereto. Such references
shall be deemed to a submission to arbitration under The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 or of any
modification or re-enactment thereof. The venue of arbitration shall be Mumbai. Subject hereto the Court in
Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction to the exclusion of all other Courts.

5. During the period of training if a trainee leaves/resigns, the trainee will have to pay liquidated damages
amounting to Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) and give three calendar months‟ written notice or
salary in lieu thereof. On being absorbed as an Employee of TCS, after completion of the training period
TCS would be entitled to terminate the services of the Employee with three calendar months‟ written notice
during the tenure of service agreement. However, in case of resignation/leaving of services of TCS by the
Trainee, the Trainee will have to pay liquidated damages amounting to Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand
Only) plus give three calendar months‟ written notice or salary in lieu thereof. The provisions stated herein
for breach by the Trainee of the provisions of this agreement shall be without prejudice to other remedies
available to TCS.
