SPACE HUMANIZATION CHALLENGE

Astronomy Events Engineer 2011

STATEMENT OF WORK 1. Basic requirements: The contractor will describe the design, development, and construction of the space port. 2. Structural Design: A independent Space port located at a distance from the main settlement, with a capacity of 10 million passengers per year. The design must enable residents to view the Airaavat and the space fleet . 2.1 Overall exterior view of port, with major visible features NOTE: Artificial gravity need NOT be provided. 2.2 Structural integration of port with the original settlement but still maintaining it as a separate entity in space You may also: Show design features described in the earlier proposal, which accommodate this new port. 3. Operations and Infrastructure: Describe facilities and infrastructure necessary for building and operating the space Port. 3.1 the space port will require an interiors to have Atmosphere Water management Internal and external communication systems,(mainly to the settlement) Internal transportation systems (between terminals) 3.2 creation of a Space traffic control room within the space port to handle all operations of the port , and setting up of necessary features such as: Communications systems , instruments, backup protocols, security checks, cargo management, and logistics. 4. Human Factors: The space port will focus on hospitality for its transient population. 4.1 Map(s) and/or illustration(s) depicting space port design and locations of basic amenities, and shops. Typically making the space port more hospitable. You may also: Show locations of entertainment centres, and other luxury of the space port to help passengers pass time.

4.2 As gravity is not required passengers may face troubles in carrying out any activities provide measures for passengers to cope with the low gravity situation.

5. Automation Design and Services: Specify numbers and types of computing and information processing devices, , servers, network devices, and robots required for port operations. Show robot designs, clearly indicating their dimensions and illustrating how they perform their tasks. 5.1 Describe use of automation for construction. Consider automation for transportation and delivery of materials and equipment, assembly of the settlement, and interior finishing. You may also: Include drawings showing automated construction and assembly devices 5.2 Chart or table listing anticipated automation requirements for operation of the port , and identifying particular systems and robots to meet each automation need. You may also: Describe how passenger traffic and cargo is handled, to ensure smooth operation of the settlement. 6. Schedule and Cost: The proposal will include a schedule for completion and operation of the space port and costs for design through construction phases of the schedule. 6.1 The schedule must describe contractor tasks from the time of contract award (30th October 2125) until the customer assumes responsibility for operations of the completed port. 6.2 Specify costs billed per year of space port design through construction in Indian rupees(INR), without consideration for economic inflation. Estimate numbers of employees working during each phase of design and construction in the form of chart(s) or table(s) listing separate costs associated with different phases of construction, and clearly showing total costs that will be billed to the United Senate.
