Permissions to Folders and Objects in the MSDSSHUB are managed via SQL2005 Server Database Everyone can view all objects. No accidental deletion of vital information by inexperienced personnel Borrow, Cancel, Delete, Submit controlled by DSS permissions. Official MineSight Objects are located in central location permitting easy archival for Site IT Network drive. Single copy.

The Site MSDSS Manager has complete Read / Write Permissions to entire level of project maintained by MSDSS / Data Synchronization. Without the need of IT Support, permissions can be managed as business needs arise.

While the use of MSDSS improves the security and speed of MineSight and its Official Objects, it also provides a centralized area for Site IT departments to do daily backups. The combination of using Mintecs Synchronization Techniques, further allows easy backup and centralization of all other data/settings from local MS3D Projects. Mintec utilizes file-synchronization tools that allow two replicas of a collection of files and directories to be stored on different hosts (or different disks on the same host), modified separately, and then brought up to date by propagating the changes in each replica to the other.

Data Synchronization with MSDSS

All the benefits of MSDSS, plus: Maximizes speed of MineSight. Local projects can be mirrored to a centralized location. This allows Site IT both secure sharing and easy access for archiving.

MSDSS +Data Synchronization

MSDSS provides the MineSight objects. Data Synchronization lets users work locally. Every user has a C:\MS-User folder with project data Consistency of project locations among users. Initial Project files copied from secure network location Ensures everyone starts with Official data. User Project files copied to their network folders All work backed up. Other user project data viewable, but not editable.
