couplings and torque converters with mechanical gears. It is based on a blend of highly refined mineral oils and contains anti-oxidant, anti-corrosion and extreme-pressure additives. Applications
Railway hydraulic transmission systems. Transmission systems for railway diesel engines consist of various combinations of fluid couplings, torque converters and transmission gears. Sometimes, this type of transmission is used in combination with a hydrodynamic brake which is operated to reduce brake shoe wear during periods of prolonged braking down long slopes. At times, the brake oil temperature may reach up to 140C. Fluid drive coupling on conveyer belts standards of industrial and personal hygiene are maintained. Avoid contact with skin. Use impervious gloves with used oil. After skin contact, wash immediately with soap and water. For further guidance on Product Health & Safety refer to the appropriate Shell Product Safety Data Sheet. Protect the environment Take used oil to an authorised collection point. Do not discharge into drains, soil or water.
Advice
Performance Features
Specially developed To meet the specific lubrication requirements of hydro-kinetic transmission systems Good anti-foam and demulsibility properties Carefully chosen additives ensure quick air release without excessive foaming Oxidation stability High resistance to oil thickening, even at elevated working temperatures Excellent load-carrying capacity The extreme-pressure properties permit maximum load transmission with minimum component wear. (Passes all 12 stages of the FZG Gear Machine Tests) No evidence of tooth-flank damage after all 12 stages of FZG
