U.S. Navy Sailing Center

U.S. Navy Sailing Center is conveniently located in Point Loma at Naval Mine and Anti-Submarine Warfare Command, and is one of the Navys premier marinas. The protected waters of San Diego Bay offer the perfect location to learn to sail or to sharpen advanced sailing techniques. The Center also offers sailboat and kayak rentals and is home to Point Lomas Outdoor Gear Rental Center.

Fiddlers Cove Marina & RV Park

Fiddlers Cove Marina & RV Park, located along the scenic Silver Strand Highway just south of NAB, is open to active duty, retirees, DoD civilians and guests when accompanied by an eligible sponsor. The marina offers kayak, canoe, and sailboat rentals, as well as 15 Boston Whaler motorboats that hold up to four adults. Fiddlers Cove is also home to one of the Navys finest RV parks, currently under renovation and offering dry camping sites. The bike paths, BBQ grill, patios, fire ring and ships store, however, are still open and accessible. Whether you are a fishing or sailing enthusiast or just love to relax near the water, Fiddlers Cove is the perfect place for a unique San Diego-style adventure.

Sailing Classes
Two-day adult sailing classes are offered most weekends from 9 am to 4:30 pm at both Sailing Centers. Class fees are $150 for E1-E6, $200 for E7 and up plus retirees and $225 for DoD civilians and $250 for sponsored guests. Pre-registration is required. SUMMARY: The National City Police Department has recovered a large amount of property stolen from Naval Base San Diego (32nd Street) gym and recreation area. Detectives are attempting to identify the owners of the property. The property recovered includes bicycles, backpacks, jewelry, cellular telephones, military clothing, shoes, cash, glasses, iPod, hard-drive, keys, padlocks and other items.
