1. General information Alignment: An Suong Thu Thiem. Tham Luong depot at District 12: 6 ha (sharing depot with metro line No.6) Total length: 19 km Stage 1 (Ben Thanh Tham Luong) Total length = 11.3 km (9.5 km underground and 1.8 km elevated) Donors: ADB, KFW, EIB Total investment cost (estimated): USD 1,374 billion Time Period: 2010 2016.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF METRO LINE2


Number of Station: 11 (1 elevated). Depot square: 26ha, including 3.4ha for resettlement. Standardized double track : 1,435mm. Track: UIC 54 welded. Platform screen door. Ticketing system: smart cards. Communication system: TETRA technology. Signaling system: CBTC technology. Operation and Maintenance: one integrated operation and maintenance company. Train: 3rd rail with 750V DC voltage. Dimension: large (22m x 3.15m). Designed speed: 90km/h.

Why Gender & Urban rail?

Output 4: Integrated sustainable urban transport

- Gender-responsive design requirement in TORs e.g. street lighting around MRT station access and pick-up/drop-off points, schedules and ticketing options to suit multiples short trips/intermodal transport usage.
