Calendar of Parish Activities Week of December 4, 2011

Message from Fr. Bill.

This past Thanksgiving was a wonderful time for our Parish. On Thanksgiving Eve, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, celebrated evening Mass in our church. It was such an uplifting celebration of the Liturgy. Both the Adult Choir and the Childrens Choir lent their voices to the evening, accompanied by our parishioner, Nora Palmieri on her oboe and our organist Linda Rosalsky. The Cardinal commented to the congregation present how beautifully they performed. He was also impressed by the children of our parish who read the Prayers of the Faithful and those that brought up the Thanksgiving offering. The Cardinals message to us was to give thanks to God in all the endeavors of our lives. This message rings true in all seasons. And now I thank those of you at both Thanksgiving Masses that donated to the collection. As is our tradition at Thanksgiving, the collection is sent to St. Johns Soup Kitchen to help feed the hungry. This year we are so pleased to be sending $2,300. God bless you all!
