Why do onions make us cry? When you cut an onion, you release a gas containing sulfur.

That gas irritates your mucosa in your nose and your eyes. Tears will come to protect you from this irritation. Why do our toes get all wrinkly in the bath tub? During long baths the upper layer of your skin will soak up water like a sponge, and swell up. The reason our fingers and toes don't swell up like water balloons but instead shrivel like raisins has to do with the way the layers of skin are joined to one another. By the way, warm water wrinkles you skin faster than cold water. Are there most men or women in the world? Globally, there are about 105-107 boys born for every 100 girls. As of 2009, there were approx 50,25% boys and 49,75% girls. This varies from country to country. Why are some animals and humans albino? A genetic mutation is causing a melanin deficiency. Melanin is giving the skin color, which helps a lot protecting from the sun's radiation. That's why albinos can't stay in the sun a long time. Is a zebra white with black stripes or black with white stripes? Many people think that the zebra is white with black stripes because their belly is often only white. Scientific evidence, however, proofs that the zebra is black, and the white stripes and bellies are additions. Why is the sky blue? Sunlight is made up of all the colors in the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. Like energy passing through the ocean, light energy travels in waves, too. Some light travels
in short, "choppy" waves. Other light travels in long, lazy waves. Bluelight waves are shorter than red light waves.

The blue light is reflected, or scattered more than the other colours, because it travels as shorter, smaller waves. That is why the sky is blue most of the time. What comes after death? Well, this one is difficult. Many will say you're gone. And biologically that will happen, but many think that your soul, or you will never die. Maybe you'll be reborn another place? Or maybe you'll go to heaven or hell? I'm sorry, we can't give you an exact answer on this, but I guess you'll find out one time in the future! Why are blind people blind? The most common reason to people's blindness is diseases. Cataract, the most common, causes most often older people. Cataract is very rarely congenital. Other reasons to blindness is:

Genetic defects
People with albinism often have vision loss to the extent that many are legally blind, though few of them actually cannot see.
Abnormalities and injuries
Eye injuries, most often occurring in people under 30, are the leading cause of monocular blindness (vision loss in one eye)
Poisoning
Rarely, blindness is caused by intake of certain chemicals like methanol.
Willful actions
Blinding has been used to torture and as an act of vengeance for a long time. Why do we dream? Dreams can include images, thoughts and emotions. They can be filled with everything from joyful

happenings to frightening nightmares. But why? What is the purpose of dreaming? Well, some researchers do not believe it is any purpose at all, but others believe that dreams is essential to mental, emotional and physical being. Here are some of the theories The psychoanalytic perspective model says that dreams is a representation of unconscious desires, motivations and thoughts. The activation-synthesis model was first proposed by Hobson and McCarley. The REM sleep causes areas of the limbic system including the hippocampus to be active. The brain attemps to find meaning in these signals of emotions sensations and memories. That results in dreaming Another suggests that dreams are the result of our brains trying to interpret what you hear and feel into the dream Yet another theory suggests that dreams clean up the brain during the night. A psychotherapy model proposes that dreams function as a form of psychotherapy. You make connections between different thoughts and emotions in a safe environment. How is the 3D-effect made? Humans have two eyes and an absolutely amazing binocular vision system. The binocular vision tells us with good accuracy how far away an object is. If you close one eye, you can still perceive distance, but accuracy decreases and you have to rely on visual cues, which is slower. 3D uses your binocular vision to make amazing depth images. Therefore, you can't watch 3Dwith one eye. The reason why we use 3D-glasses is to feed different images into your eyes. The screen actually show two images, and the glasses causes on of the images to enter one eye, and the other to enter the other eye. The are several ways to do this: 1. Red/blue, Red/green One red and one blue (or green) image is displayed, but the filters on the glasses allow only one image to each eye. The colors in this system is not as good as the alternatives. 2. Polarization The most common 3D system is polarization. Two projectors project two respective images onto the screen each with different polarization. The two lenses are differently polarized and will allow only one image to each eye. 3. Synchronized glasses In one system a TV displays images right after another. The synchronized glasses block every other image in a rapid succession. What is dejavu? Have you ever experienced that you have travelled to a new place and suddenly felt like you have been there before? That is called dejavu, from french already seen. There is much speculation as to how and why this phenomena happens. Several people think it is just simple fantasy and wish fulfillment, while others think it is a mismatching in the brain that causes it to mistake the present for the past. About 70 percent of the population claims to have experienced dejavu. Is it possible to clone humans? Is it possible to clone dinosaurs? Are all fingerprints unique? Yes. A Fingerprint has not, is not and will not be repeated.
