In addition to that, according to Norman (1999) the PIECES framework model focuses on the actual work of doing requirements

determination. The goal of the model is to assure the systems analyst and the user that questions will be included during analysis about each of these six essential subjects as it relates to the problem domain. The responses to the questions for each of these subject areas significantly contribute to the definition of the systems requirements. The PIECES Framework will be used in order to determine the status of the existing reservation system of Clarissa Jade Village Resort.

Questionnaire According to Lanthier (2002), the questionnaire (also

called survey) is a set of questions given to a sample of people to gather information. Using a questionnaire with a random sample is a good way to find out the thoughts of a large group of people. Questionnaire provides a better and accurate data. In addition, according to QuickMBA (2010), questionnaire is a structured technique for collecting primary data in a marketing survey. It is a series of written or verbal questions for which the respondents provides answers. A well-designed questionnaire motivates the

respondents to provide complete and accurate information.

20

Moreover, According to Brace (2008), says that the role of questionnaire is to elicit the information that is required to enable the researchers to answer the objective of the survey. To do this the questionnaire must not only collect the data required, but collect the data in the most accurate way possible. Collecting accurate data means getting the most accurate responses, so a key objective in writing the questionnaire is to help the respondents to provide them.

Documentary Analysis According to online source PubMed.gov (2005), the analysis of documents can provide insights into important social and political issues related to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). This paper identifies some important sources of documents and outlines some of the advantages and disadvantages of using documents in social research. A number of analytic strategies are illustrated with examples to demonstrate the potential for documentary analysis to answer particular CAM-related research questions. These strategies are described as quantitative content analysis, qualitative descriptive analysis, qualitative interpretive analysis and semiotic analysis. It is argued that documents are a convenient source of data and that their analysis can enrich our understanding of CAM Moreover, according to online source Evidence Base (2006), Documentary analysis is a useful method to investigate on decision
21

making and strategic planning resource allocation outcomes alignment and library policy. The advantages of documentary analysis are (1) it overcomes the difficulties of encouraging participation by users; (2) there are few costs involved other than staff time.

System Development Successful system development requires formulation and

implementation of a technical strategy that accurately translates the user's operational needs into a physical solution to comply with their specifications and contract requirements. System Analysis, Design, and Development presents a comprehensive, step-by-step approach for organizing, analyzing, designing, developing, verifying, and validating systems, products, and services (Wasson, 2007). According to nos.org (2010), system development methodologies are used in designing information system. Depending upon the actual requirement of the system, different approaches for data processing are adopted. However, some system groups recommend the

Centralized data processing system. In a centralized data processing, one or more centralized computers are used for processing and the retrieval of information is done from them. The distributed processing systems involve number of computers located remotely in the branches/departments of the organization. The client/server

technologies are also gaining popularity these days.

Based from Whatls (2010) the systems development life cycle (SDLC) is a conceptual model used in project management that describes the stages involved in an information system development project, from an initial feasibility study through maintenance of the completed application. Various SDLC methodologies have been developed to guide the processes involved, including the waterfall model (which was the original SDLC method); rapid application development (RAD); joint application development (JAD); the fountain model; the spiral model; build and fix; and synchronize-and-stabilize. Frequently, several models are combined into some sort of hybrid methodology. Documentation is crucial regardless of the type of model chosen or devised for any application, and is usually done in parallel with the development process. Some methods work better for specific types of projects, but in the final analysis, the most important factor for the success of a project may be how closely the particular plan was followed; (1) the existing system is evaluated. Deficiencies are identified. This can be done by interviewing users of the system and consulting with support personnel; (2) the new system

requirements are defined. In particular, the deficiencies in the existing system must be addressed with specific proposals for improvement; (3) the proposed system is designed. Plans are laid out concerning the physical construction, hardware, operating systems, programming,
23

communications, and security issues; (4) the new system is developed. The new components and programs must be obtained and installed. Users of the system must be trained in its use, and all aspects of performance must be tested. If necessary, adjustments must be made at this stage; (5) the system is put into use. This can be done in various ways. The new system can phased in, according to application or location, and the old system gradually replaced. In some cases, it may be more cost-effective to shut down the old system and implement the new system all at once; (6) once the new system is up and running for a while, it should be exhaustively evaluated. Maintenance must be kept up rigorously at all times. Users of the system should be kept up-to-date concerning the latest modifications and procedures.

Rapid Application Development (RAD) According to Viney (2004), RAD, as a methodology is all about building relevant systems. The argument runs that it is better to be there quickly with 80% of the functionality in 20% of the time, so as to take full advantage of the business opportunity. Ravindran (2007) says in his article Rapid Application

Development Model (RAD) that RAD reduces the development time and reusability of components help to speed up development. All functions are modularized so it is easy to work with.
24

Moreover, according to Catherine (2007), competitive world is giving rise to a demanding market where delivery time for anything should be as little as possible. In such a scenario Rapid Application Development (RAD) has appeared as a winning solution for this demand. RAD is a software methodology that involves iterative development, quick construction of prototypes, and the use of Computer-aided software engineering (CASE) tools. And as the name indicates, RAD technique allows really "Rapid" application

development, with development time limited to 30 or maximum 90 days.

Level of Acceptability According to Woods and Crissman (2004), We attempted to use some statistical process control tools during the evaluation of Professor Kiefs site, and one tool we decided to use was checklist. After some research, we found a very thorough checklist on the internet. This checklist, designed by Gerry Gaffney of the Information & Design group, proved to be extremely useful in our evaluation of the Web site because it not only covered technical issues related to the site, but it also evaluated the sites user interface, content, and language. After filling out this checklist, we had become extremely familiar with the problems and limitations of the site, and we know exactly where the need for improvement was greatest. After our experience on this
25

project, we have come to the conclusion that the checklist is a beneficial way to evaluate the quality of any Web site. They are especially useful after the site has been created but before it has been posted online for the public to see. Moreover, according to Carrera, et. al. (2009) level of

acceptability refers to the measure or degree to which the developed intra-office communication system for the organizations to carry out the desired strategies, functions and activities that gives practical effect and IT solutions needed for the interaction of the said organizations. It is basically premised on a state or condition of meeting minimum standards for use, to claim the utility value of the developed system. Criteria used in this study were based on Website Usability Contingent Evaluation Tool (WUCET). According to Lang-es, et. al (2010), Gerry Gaffney of the Information and Design (1998) group designed the web evaluation checklist v1.1 which consists of the following criteria: (1) Navigation. It refers to the ability to find ones way within the website. (2) Functionality. It refers to the support of all the activities which may be carried out on the site. (3) Control. Customers should feel that they are always in control of the interaction. (4) Language. It is important to speak the language of your customer in order to prevent confusion and frustration. (5) Feedback. It refers to the provision of information about what is happening at any time. (6) Consistency. It
26

is important to use language and visual cues in a manner that is both internally consistent and consistent with general practice. (7) Error prevention and correction. Errors should be prevented from occurring in the first place. When errors occur, it is important to provide clear explanation of what has happened, and clear instructions for how to recover. (8) Visual Clarity. It covers the layout, ample white spaces and presence of the parts in the website anatomy that makes the system pleasing to the eyes of the user.

Online Reservation System Travel and tourism are among the Internet's largest businesses and as a result of their continual growth and their recognition of the hectic pace of many of their customers who have little time to go to their travel agents to make plane or hotel reservation, many of these businesses have looked at ways to facilitate their registration process. The answer they have found is relatively new online reservation software, which is a much simpler method for travelers to find and reserve plane or hotel reservations. The many benefits of this system for the travelers are easily recognized and include the improved guest services from the initial online contact, the immediacy of the reservation process, the ability to view, select and book their choice of rooms, the instant confirmation at any hour of the day or night every day of the year and their personal
27

information does not go through a third party. The hotel also benefits from this system because it requires less personnel involvement, increases direct sales and instant purchases and improves customer satisfaction. This system also manages guest billing, room analysis, revenue analysis as well as distributing last minute rates to the Internet, travel agents and corporate clients (Crawford, 2010). In addition, According to Doe (2009), online booking gives you the opportunity to choose the exact thing that you want. Booking your conveyance online saves you from a lot of hassle and waste of money. One will have to go all the way to the travel agencies, wait in long queues, and wait for the travel agents to inform you about the available flights and fares. If you want pick and drop services from airport to the hotel, the agent will charge exorbitant fees for all the conveyance that he'll provide during your stay in your desired destination. Sometimes, the conveyance provided in such cases is not the one that was promised, and sometimes it is simply not available, which is a very frustrating situation. Moreover, according to Szifo (2010), online reservation has made our lives easier. It saves time and energy so we are able to book or reserve all that we desire at the touch of button. For all industries like travel, hotels, and even food we are able to use software to help us book online reservations.Hotel reservation software helps anyone reserve rooms at a hotel. Not only is it convenient to you, it is also
28

convenient for the hotel staff because they do not have to worry about not receiving your monetary information or making a mistake in booking a room. All of the information is right in front of them from now on. The online reservation system as mentioned previously is a secure way to book all of your reservation needs. Coupled with online reservation software and free booking system software. Overall, businesses these days thrive online. It is important to allow your business to grow and change with our improving economy.
