Renewal 2012

To kick-start the New Year we will be holding a special week of services starting on January 15th at 11:00 AM. We are calling it Renewal 2012. I can't help but think of the Israelites as they prepared to leave Mt. Sinai for the Promise Land. They had greatly displeased the Lord and transgressed his Covenant before it was even ratified. So, God said to Moses, "Go up to a Land flowing with milk and honey, but I will not go up among you." Then Moses, sensing the devastation of being on Mission without God, cried out, "If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.... Is it not in your going with us, so that we are distinct?" Ex 33: This is our prayer for 2012: That we would be on Mission with Christ; that we would be filled with a zeal for the Great commission; but most importantly, that God would go with us! It is in His presence that we are Renewed. And on top of all of that, Northside Baptist Church will be joining with us for Renewal 2012. Christians coming together in unity and diversity is great. But, two churches coming together in unity and diversity to beseech God for His favor and presence is an even greater gift of God's grace. So, please be encouraged by what God is doing to invite friends and family to a special New Year's celebration, Renewal 2012. Service Times: Sun @ 11:00 & 6:00; Mon, Tues, Wend @ 7:00 PM; prayer and fasting starting @ 4:00 PM

Shepherding Groups
Each Sunday at 11:00 AM we gather together in small groups called Shepherding Groups. The name signifies the purpose: to be shepherded. While growing as a church numerically we must also grow in fellowship. We must also grow in effective and organized discipleship and shepherding. Shepherding Groups provide for this ever-increasing need. There you can meet others in the church, express concerns, ask for prayer, dig deep into the word of God and process the sermon together in community. When Mary heard the Gospel message from the angel Gabriel she quickly rushed to Elizabeth for guidance, wisdom and community. It is a clear Biblical principle that truth outside of Christian love, humility and community tends to pride and distortion. So, I encourage you to take the short walk over to the hospitality hall and become a vital part of a shepherding group.
