Petro-Canadas PUREWAX is designed specifically to function as a sizing agent for the composite board market such as Oriented Strand Board (OSB). It has a high flash point for safe operation and low oil content to help maintain board strength. Petro-Canadas PUREWAX is produced from the patented HT purity process which results in a wax that is lower in contaminants such as sulfur and aromatic compounds than leading competitive conventional slack waxes. Removing these types of contaminants results in a cleaner, more stable product that is low in odour and lighter in colour.

Unlike leading competitive conventional slack wax products that can exceed 100 ppm of total sulfur, Petro-Canadas PUREWAX typically contains less than 10 ppm of total sulfur.

Applications
Petro-Canadas PUREWAX is designed for use in the manufacturing of composite boards such as Oriented Strand Board (OSB). Its water repellency characteristics help protect the board from water penetration that can cause swelling and degradation.
