All previously merged IT systems including Agile, Oracle, Inventory and Supply Chain Management, etc. had to be brought into Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through complete separation. This necessitated building new data centers, standing up new server farms, and implementing live database capture prior to switching to the new systems. Results: o The project implementation date was successfully met. o The companies are no longer at risk for Federal compliance violations and fines. (DISH Network, LLC, 2009-2011): Designed and implemented a systematic electronic recycling initiative for customers exchanging for repair, upgrading to newer technology, or disconnecting their service with older satellite receivers. Results: o The process was well received by customers and had little to no impact on the companys customer service call center volume. o This initiative continues to provide an annual return on investment of $4.2M. (DISH Network, LLC, 2009-2011): Designed and implemented a systematic equipment return fee process for disconnecting customers. Recruited by management to take charge of a DVD product launch that was at high risk of missing its target launch date. Company had already invested $2.5M in a broad media-mix advertising campaign. Was currently directing 11 projects which all required re-prioritization and status changes; confirmed with project teams benchmark and deliverable dates, re-engineered the critical procedures that were behind schedule, and tightened communication loops to ensure all stakeholders were receiving update progress reports. Results: o Product launch was completed on time and on budget. o Recognized by executive management along with the Sales and Marketing stakeholders for a highly successful conclusion to a problem-plagued launch. o Became the internal Trouble Shooter of Choice among project managers. (PEMCO Financial Services, 1996 2006): Successfully managed project to implement the Customer Output portion of a comprehensive Mail Processing System for an insurance companys new line of products. Company wanted to outsource the function. Project included such functions as billing statements, declarations and policy mailings, and customer application correspondence. Formed the project team, supervised systems testing, validated customer information, and instituted hand-checking every piece for accuracy. Results: o Efforts led to the successful outsourcing of the mail services. o By closing the internal mail system, company saved $10M in annual costs. (PEMCO Financial Services, 1996 2006): Technological Upgrade. Requested by executive management to redesign the corporate website and improve its functionality and effectiveness. Devised and implemented a plan for gathering requirements; researched competitors websites, developed test cases, and identified key deliverables. Drafted a proposal to upgrade technology of website, proposed it to management, and secured their adoption of the plan. Results: o Research and programming requirements experienced a 35% increase in page-loading speed. o Transactional processing improved 25%.
