Configuring Dual-Stack Systems Use

You can now connect systems with the usage type PI (Process Integration), ERP systems, and others, to SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java.

Procedure
Systems with a Support Package level lower than SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Package Stack (SPS) 12 must be handled differently from systems with level SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 12 or higher. Systems on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 12 or higher

For imports of mixed transport requests, you can configure the transport tools in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP to enable a deployment of non-ABAP objects on SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java.

1. Include the SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP in the transport domain. 2. Configure the CTS deploy Web service for the dual stack system. 3. Log on to the domain controller. 4. Call transaction STMS. 5. Choose System Overview. 6. Choose SAP System Create Java Stack. The TMS: Add Java Stack dialog box appears. 7. Make the following settings, depending on whether your system is a source system or a target system: Non-ABAP system as source system

Under Source System Settings, select the Activate Transport Organizer flag and enter the client where you want to use Transport Organizer. Non-ABAP system as target system

Under Target System Settings, select the Activate Deployment Service flag. Select your preferred deployment methods and fill out the rest of the fields accordingly.

8. Enter a user and password for the selected deployment methods. 9. Save your entries. Systems on releases lower than SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 12

In this case, you cannot use the transport tools in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP to deploy non-ABAP objects; this is possible only in Release SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 12 and higher. For systems on releases lower than SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 12 you must create two transport routes: one for SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP and one for SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java. ... Your ABAP objects are transported through the ABAP transport landscape. Perform the following steps: 1. Create an additional non-ABAP system in the transport domain. More information: Defining and Configuring Non-ABAP Systems 2. Create a transport request for SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java in the domain controller (communication system). 3. Configure a transport route from the domain controller to your non-ABAP systems. The domain controller performs the transport for SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java.

Organize your landscape so that your ABAP transports and non-ABAP transports are synchronized with each other.

Result
You have configured your non-ABAP systems and you can now check whether your settings are configured correctly. More information: Checking the Transport Control Program
