Internet is largely seen as one of the world's biggest technology platform. It is a source of knowledge, entertainment, brand building, commerce, education and much more. However, Internet, which has over the years changed the way we live, work and communicate, also has a darker side: Addiction. Internet addiction has been a headache for several Asian countries over the past decade. The South Korean government recently estimated that the country has over 2 million citizens addicted to the Internet. Nearly 50 percent of teenaged delinquents in south China's Guangdong province are said to be Internet-dependent. Though Internet addiction is still not a cause of concern in India, the use of Internet, especially online social networks, is fast rising in India. lot has been talked about cloud computing, but very few know what it really is... Moreover its now even been asked in interviews by the companies visiting at IBS. Most people think that cloud computing is like a hard drive in the sky that holds all your data and gives you access to it whenever you need it. Well, thats true for the most part but its much beyond that. Lets put it simply to get how it works. Imagine that you are using various devices in your daily routine like a home PC, PC at work, mobile phone and a tablet. You may update your data on any of these devices any time and your changes are synchronized with all the devices you are using. Thats the magic of cloud computing you make changes anywhere anytime and those are reflected in every device you use automatically. In cloud computing everything works as a service. There are essentially 3 segments playing the key role in it, they are: 1. Software as a service, 2. Platform as a service, and 3. Infrastructure as a service. Googles upcoming Operating System chrome would be the best example of cloud computing as it completely follows the paradigm.

Example Windows Azure Cloud infrastructure services or "Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)" delivers computer infrastructure, as a service. Rather than purchasing servers, software, data center space or network equipment, clients instead buy those resources as a fully outsourced service. For example you may purchase 5 GB or bigger storage on the cloud to store your data as per your requirements Cloud computing has picked up very fast as it provides a very cost effective solutions for organizations and individuals.
