SEAT maintenance programme

SEAT maintenance programme

General information
This maintenance programme will inform you of the work that should be carried out regularly on your vehicle in order to ensure the safety, reliability and durability required. Using the vehicle identification data or the data in this document, will ensure the correct spare parts for your vehicle are specified in case of repairs, for many years after the initial purchase. We recommend that you keep this maintenance programme with the vehicle documents. The record of inspections carried out is one of the essential requirements for exercising your rights under warranty. The maintenance programme shows the date of delivery, and this indicates the starting date of the vehicle warranty.

Adverse conditions
The Service Centre service advisor will inform you of any necessary additional work within the intervals defined by the Inspection Service, according to the conditions and environment in which the vehicle is used. For example, an oil change where the vehicle is used only for frequent short journeys or is subject to extreme temperatures. Likewise, when the vehicle is used in dusty conditions the air, dust and pollen filter cartridges must be changed more often and the timing belt checked.

Diesel fuel
The Service Centre service advisor can provide information about which countries use fuel with a high sulphur content. In these cases, the oil must be changed every 7,500 km (5,000 miles).

Maintenance Programme
The SEAT maintenance programme consists of the different inspection services which are carried out according to the time since the vehicle purchase or the mileage. Each Inspection Service, as well as any additional operation required already has a pre-established work time. This will allow you to know the total cost of the service beforehand. The SEAT Service Centre network is equipped with modern workshop technology and well-trained specialists. Many SEAT Service Centres offer different service packages at special prices.

Caution

Vehicles with the label UNSUITABLE FOR BIODIESEL on the fuel cover cannot be driven using biodiesel. To be certain if your vehicle can be used with biodiesel according to the DIN EN 14214 (FAME) standard consult your Service Centre. DIN is a German abbreviation for Deutsches Institut fr Normung e.V., the German standards institute. EN means European Norm. FAME is the English abbreviation Fatty Acid Methyl Ester

SEAT maintenance programme

If biodiesel or any other fuel that does not conform to the DIN EN 14214 (FAME) standard is used then the fuel filter must be cleaned every 15,000 km (10,000 miles) and replaced every 30,000 km (20,000 miles). Consult your Service Centre.

General programme for Inspection Services

General programme for Inspection Services

Inspection services
A reminder label for the scheduled inspection services is located on the inside of the driver door frame; you will also be reminded by the service interval counter on the instrument panel, and the service records in this document.

Note

We recommend that you visit an Authorised SEAT Service Centre whenever you require any work done on your vehicle. SEAT regularly communicates to its Authorised Service Centres new product developments. They have tools and highly specialized personnel who can guarantee the safety and performance of your vehicle. Scrupulously following the General Programme for Inspection Services in Authorised SEAT Service Centres will ensure you maintain greater value for your vehicle.

Maintenance intervals
The SEAT maintenance programme requires that your vehicle undergoes an inspection every 15,000 km (10,000 miles) or once a year. Depending on your style of driving, the maintenance programme will depend on the mileage of the vehicle or on the time since the date of purchase. For those vehicles covering more than 15,000 km (10,000 miles) / year, the maintenance will be performed according to the mileage (see the example on table 1). For those vehicles covering less than 15,000 km (10,000 miles) /year, the maintenance will be programmed according to the time (see the example on table 2).

Example of maintenance according to the mileage: Km (miles) Inspection Service every 15,000 km (10,000 miles) or each year Inspection Service every 30,000 km or 2 years 15.000 x x 30.000 45.000 x x 60.000 75.000 x x 90.000
