Mission Statement The mission of The NMC Institute of Nursing & Health Sciences is to provide visionary leadership that advances the practice of nursing in a dynamic environment. The school actualizes this mission by providing excellent nursing education, meaningful service, and scholarship that advances nursing knowledge to the Pakistan and beyond. AIMS The aim of nursing degree programme is to: Prepare the graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, competent nurses in providing comprehensive nursing services and conduct nursing research studies in the hospital, nursing schools as well as community settings. Prepare nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations and assume the role of teacher, supervisor, manager and client advocate in clinical and public health settings. 2 To provide a theoretical knowledge of principles and methods related to Nursing Education. To strengthen the quality of teaching and management in hospitals and in the schools of nursing. Through current teaching concepts and skills. To promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. To encourage self-directed and life-long learning. To provide safe competent nursing care in a specialized area. To make able the graduates to demonstrate a leadership role in nursing education, research practice and administration. To foster the concept of continued education. To will enhance the image of nursing profession and raise the standards of Nursing in the country. SWOT ANALYSIS Its strength of the NMC, ION that it is affiliated with well reputed and international University i.e. Dow University of health sciences Karachi and also recognized by Pakistan Nursing Council. By location it is placed at centre and posh area of city that is DHA Phase-2, Karachi. The Institute is top-up with competent and experienced faculty members, most of them are possessing master degree in different subjects. NMC Institute is owned and operated by National Medical Centre, which is first in bench mark of Nuro-surgery and cardio care, and well known in providing quality care as a tertiary hospital in Karachi. Along with strengths some weakness are being faced by the Institute i.e. Building profile of the institute is not wide, ventilated and healthy and under observations by Pakistan Nursing Council because PNC have given a conditional recognition. Fee is higher than market rate; which results slow induction and low in quantity. Being in centre location of city, placed on wide road of Korangi, it has good access of transport, receives customer from both social class, upper and lower class, because it is nearby to Korangi, Qayoomabad, Azam Basti, Chanesar Goth & in upper class people DHA, Clifton, ect. NMC ION have major threats from Public Institutions which are providing very cheap and free services, these institute are CON JPMC, SON NICH, SON NICD etc. and also have some private institutes like AKU, LNH, etc, these institute are very much familiar and old, most of customers know the quality of AKU & LNH for their providing excellent services and they dont take risk for new one like a NMCION, (NMC Institute of Nursing).
