Ride comfort starts with the seats. Thats why we design and produce them ourselves, as an integrated part of the entire coach. The new seats are lighter and even more comfortable and attractive. The passengers will immediately notice the difference inviting seats and exclusive interior colour lines, with unique service sets conveniently within reach above. The superior comfort will speak for itself. Lighting, air conditioning, low ambient noise and a high-quality entertainment system complete the passengers surroundings. The large windows have efficient sun blind. In addition there are several options for tables, footrests and other convenience features. The exclusive features of the Volvo 9900 also extend to the drivers area. The separate drivers door opens up to a remarkably comfortable seat with suspension and heating and a heated windshield. A centrally located information display, navigation, electronic control of sun visors and windows make driving uncomplicated. At the front, the driver and guide are protected by Volvos safety systems Front Impact Protection (FIP) and Knee Impact Protection. In the event of a frontal collision cars are protected by a Front Underrun Protection System (FUPS).

Efficient driving requires an untiring and durable power source. Volvos 13-litre Euro 5 diesel engine is the perfect combination of strength, reliability and economy. With 420 or 460 hp and a massive torque already at very low revs, it will take your passengers, and all their luggage, to their destination swiftly and safely. The smoothness comes from the engines character but also from the legendary 12-speed I-Shift gearbox. The automated gear-changing is electronically controlled and specially adapted to coach touring. In other words, it has been optimised for high average speed, low fuel consumption and fewer gear changes, which gives increased cruising comfort, and reduced emissions. Uphill, downhill, heat and icy winds. No matter the road conditions, you can rely on Volvo safety. The brakes are very powerful and have electronic brake force distribution, which promotes safer driving. An optional retarder can take care of much of routine braking and reduce lining wear. And, as an additional safety measure, an alcolock device is available.

Long service life A Volvo is built to last. The service intervals are long, due to the durability of the mechanical design. For example, the rear axle does not need attention until after 400,000 km on the road.
