STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM


Over the span of three decades, India has transformed from a country of acute milk shortage to the worlds leading milk producer. To assess the dairy sectors competiveness, a financial analysis is required to grow this dairy industry significantly in the coming years.

To have dairy industry be adaptive to fast running changes and become target oriented correctly use financial analysis for charting the progress of business is required.

Although financial analysis is important to obtain relevant information for making certain decisions and formulating certain plans and policies, it should be carefully performed as it suffers from various limitations.

The reasons justifying are:-

The financial statements hold accuracy which in failure may result to misleading the user in decision making.

The inadequacy regarding knowledge of financial statement analysis may lead to wrong judgment and conclusions. The financial statements are based on historical data; hence comparative analysis of financial statements cannot be done due to variations in time. The financial analysis does reveal qualitative aspects but only emphasizes on quantitative areas. Strong financial statement analysis does not necessarily mean that the organization has a strong financial future because there may be other factors that can cause an organisation to collapse. Financial statements neglect employees since they do not cover their skills and performance within the company which are normally important in performance. the measurement of the companys

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY

To know the Earning Capacity or Profitability of the dairy industry.

To get knowledge about the company's financial position.

To know the Solvency and financial strength.

To make comparative study with other firms. To know the capability of payment of interest and dividend.

To know the trend of the business and efficiency for management of the industry.

To provide useful information's to the Management.

To understand the fast changing business environment. To develop practical knowledge with theoretical aspects.

To know the liquidity position of the company by Ratio analysis. To know the trend of the computed items in two balance sheet of enterprises on different date. To identify the problems of the company related to finance and to discover the area that needs improvement. To give suggestion to strengthen the financial position of the company and to assess the Growth of Organization.

To get familiar with the annual reports of the company.

To get acquainted with the preparation of the annual reports of the company.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Research: - Can be defined as the scientific search for knowledge, or as any systematic investigation, to establish novel facts, solve new or existing problems, prove new ideas, or develop new theories, usually using a scientific method. The primary purpose for basic research (as opposed to applied research) is discovering, interpreting, and the development of methods and systems for the advancement of human knowledge on a wide variety of scientific matters of our world and the universe.

Definition of Resource:- Procedures used in making systematic observations or otherwise obtaining data, evidence, or information as part of a research project or study. Data Collection:- is a term used to describe a process of preparing and collecting data. For example: - as part of a process improvement or similar project.

The purpose of data collection is to obtain information to keep on record, to make decisions about important issues, to pass information on to others. Primarily, data are collected to provide information regarding a specific topic. Types of Data:

Primary Data: - Data observed or collected directly from first-hand experience. Source of Primary data are Interview, Questionnaire etc.

Secondary Data: - Published data and the data collected in the past or other parties, is called secondary data. Source of Secondary data are Newspaper, Websites, Magazines, Journals etc.
