Progressivism: Its Roots and Reasons

Progressivism is the disease that has consumed a good portion of both political parties. Starting with Teddy Roosevelt, the Progressive movement started mainstream appeal. It has since brought our country to the brink of destruction, and only you can stop that fate. What is Progressivism? Progressivism is believing in a living Constitution. The Progressive dream is one of unlimited government and the redistribution of wealth. Progressives abominate the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence because they put chains of limitation on the government. The Declaration Of Independence gives the idea of individual God-given rights as the end of government. As the progressives want it, it's just the opposite. Here are the very words of Radical Progressive Barack Obama regarding the US Constitution:
"But, the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth, and of more basic issues such as political and economic justice in society. To that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn't that radical. It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it's been interpreted, and the Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. Says what the states can't do to you. Says what the federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf."

Progressives hate the Constitution because it puts limits on the government which were designed, on purpose, to uphold those natural rights. The principles of the founding Fathers are the stone wall in the face of the progressives. Progressives are conservative Socialists not full blown Marxists. They may use different means, but they envision the same ends as Marxists. They want no boundaries like the Constitution defending the individual from the State. They want full control over your life because they believe that they know what it better for you than you do. All that they care about is what you can do for the collective. To them, society owns you and what you make of yourself. The Inherent Flaw Progressivism has the inherent assumption that human nature can change. Progressives actually believe that man is perfectible. They believe that we can make man and society perfect. A Utopia. Our Founders believed just the opposite. They knew that man is flawed. That's why they created limitations, like the checks and balances and the Constitution. The problem with the Progressive philosophy is that history has proven countless times that it does not work. Marxism and Progressivism are ineffective because man cannot be perfected, so the government becomes increasingly aggressive and brutal in dealing with his

imperfections. (Think Hugo Chavezs secret police) Thomas Jefferson foresaw this problem and wrote: "The two enemies of the people are criminals
and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first."

He knew that man will never be able to be perfected. He knew that if the people (you) gave someone too much power, eventually that power would corrupt that person and ultimately, the nation. This is the sole reason the Founders established the Constitution and other documents limiting the power of the government. When Obama says that he wants to "fundamentally transform America" he is saying that the Constitution is not good enough. It doesnt represent his version of what this country is or should be. This is dangerous and radical because he aims that we the people will no longer be the rule of law. Instead, we will be ruled by men: the educated elite. They will have the ultimate power to grant you your rights. (And take them away) There will be no God-given Natural Rights. Wake Up You Sleepy Giant! Progressivism is destroying our Constitution and our country! Progressives have infiltrated both political parties. That's why we have had the "choice between two evils in the last several Presidential elections. Both Presidential candidates have been Progressives! John McCain is an example of a modern day Progressive. He idolizes Teddy Roosevelt, an early 20th century Republican Progressive. Progressives like Roosevelt often saw the government as the judge and jury of the nations morals. A portion of Roosevelts 1906 message was devoted restraining polygamy. He proposed a Constitutional amendment placing the jurisdiction over marriage and divorce in the hands of the national Congress. In Roosevelts words:
Surely there is nothing so vitally essential to the welfare of the nation, nothing around which the nation should so bend itself to throw every safeguard, as the home life of the average citizen When home ties are loosened; when men and women cease to regard a worthy family life, with all its duties fully performed, and all its responsibilities lived up to, as the life best worth living; then evil days for the commonwealth are at hand.

McCain is simply a more modern and disguised Roosevelt. Barack Obama is the more radical end of Progressivism, which derives itself from the idea known as anti-colonialism. He may disguise his intentions with phrases like fundamentally transform and spreading the wealth around is good for everybody, (yeah, like Milos syndicate is good for everybody) but his true intentions for America are quite clear.
