Cluster DriveTest Procedure with TEM8.0.3

1 Scope
This procedure is targeted for use in Cluster DriveTest for Vinaphone UMTS network optimization, and with TEMS 8.0.3 as the drive test equipment.

2 Overview of Drive Test for Cluster

The Drive Test is to complete following tasks: 1. Drive Test for verifying basic RF performance, include checks for: a. Normal signal strength level on street b. Normal Ec/Io level on street c. Proper Antenna direction (i.e. check if cross-connect antennae occur) d. Proper handovers between sectors from the NodeB. 2. Drive Test for checking Basic Performance Level for 4 Services: a. 3G Voice CS b. Data FTP Downlink PS R99 transfer c. Data FTP Downlink HSDPA transfer d. 3G Idle Mode (Scanner or TEMS phone with Scanner function) To complete this task, a two round drive test is required on the same drive test routes but heading for different direction.

3 Preparation before Drive Test

1. Collect drive route from Optimization Engineer one day before. a. Plan the routes b. Two way driving on road/streets with two lanes or above in one direction. 2. Collect site#, Frequency, Scrambling Code, Neighbor List from Optimization Engineer. 3. Type of test, voice, packet call, video 4. Collect equipment, phones, computers 5. Call Optimization Engineer to ensure Site readiness before set off.

4 Laptop Software Preparation

For easy to post-analyze and optimize, you have to named log files as following form: Province_Cxx_mmdd_yy_Roundi .log where Province_(prefix): which province you take DT, please have a list of Province ID in Appendix 7.3 , e.g: HNI=Hanoi, HPG=Haiphong... Cxx_(prefix): is the cluster number where you take DT; e.g: C01, C02 C15 mmdd_yy:this information is automatically generated by Tems, and this conveys information of month, date and ordered number created logfile ordered, e.g:0315_01 means logfile number one of the fifteenth of March; 0318_05 means logfile number five of the eighteenth of March. _Roundi_(suffix): ordered number of DT round, e.g: Round1 means ordered number of DT round is first, Round2 means ordered number of DT round is second Example: HNI_C01_0318_01 _Round1.log This is the first logfile which is created in Cluster number one in Hanoi province on the eighteenth of March. HPG_C05_0412_13_Round2.log This is the thirteenth logfile which is created 3 in Cluster number five in Haiphong province on the twelfth of April.
