Thank You, Brother Cliff

For 20 years, brother Cliff Wilson has served Lebanon Road as an elder. It would be difficult to overstate the influence he has had with the congregation as a whole, and within the eldership specifically. Personally, I will never forget that it was brother Cliff who introduced me to the congregation as the next preacher. Last Sunday, brother Cliff resigned from the

eldership. His health is improving following a stroke earlier this year, but he just does not feel that he can truly fulfill the office any longer. Brother Wilson continues to be a huge part of Lebanon Road, but we will miss his leadership among our elders. For 20 years of service as an elder, and for a lifetime of faithful service to God, we say thank you to our dear brother Cliff.

Christmas Day Services

It is always a blessing to meet together with the saints and worship God. Sadly, many will not be doing that today, simply because it is a holiday. At Lebanon Road, though, we will be meeting to glorify God, and we pray that you will not only attend, but that you will invite those around you to come, too. We will meet at 9AM for worship and 10:20 for Bible classes as we do each week. We will also meet for an abbreviated service at 6PM. Though tonights service will be abbreviated somewhat, it will still be uplifting to you. Make sure you put first things first today. Lets spend time with our Christian family as we worship the Lord!

HEARTLAND SCHEDULE
I continue to need two Sundays (June and October) filled. I would like for some of the young men to volunteer for the opportunity. Also, last Sunday was Philip Autrys last Sunday to lead the singing for us. I would like for one of our song leaders to meet with me and let us develop a schedule of leaders for the entire year. If one of you could do that it would be a great opportunity for each of you! We have been privileged to provide this service for the residents for a few years now and they depend on us a great deal.

Congratulations

From the Elders

Since I will be unable to serve as an elder anymore, I ask that my name be removed from the list. I treasure the time that I was privileged to serve, and will continue to keep the church in my prayers. Betty and I all of the cards, calls, visits, food and most of all your prayers. Please continue to pray for us. I hope to be able to come to worship before too long. In Christian Love, Cliff Wilson

We have had a busy week with the youth group. It started a week ago Friday with our annual progressive dinner. I would like to thank many individuals for their help with the dinner: Barry and Allison Devault, Pam Dunaway, and Greg Holland for the delicious appetizers. Leah and Adam Faughn and Lisa and Steve Ledbetter for the great main course. Thank you to Brenda and Mark Pugh for desserts and hosting our devo. Thank you very much! Ice skating this past Tuesday was a grand adventure. It was my first time to go ice skating and it was a lot of fun. I want to especially thank Gary Welch, son of Jean Welch, for donating the tickets to the Sportsplex. We had a great crew show up to work at Second Harvest food bank. It truly feels good to help an organization such as Second Harvest distribute food to those in need. I am very thankful for all the individuals who gave of their time to help out last Wednesday. I hope everyone has a safe and great Christmas! Thank you very much! --JD :)

Cliff and Betty have been members of Lebanon Road for over 50 years of which Cliff has served as a deacon or elder for over 40 years. On April 21, 1991, Cliff accepted the position of elder and has served faithfully for over 20 years in that position, having always had the interest of Lebanon Road congregation foremost in his heart. His concerns on all issues has been, Is it scriptural, and, Is it needed to further the Gospel. We will miss his wisdom and his love in the eldership. We wish Cliff and Betty the very best as he recovers from his stroke and she aids him. The Elders
