04-01-2010 06:32 AM Thank GOD the replacement of my LCD is working good (so far)....no more flickering....no more green/red lines. Hopefully it will not reccur again.... Just one thing i promised to myself, NOT to buy any HP/Compaq laptops anymore. And thas final!! :-)

after 7 months bumalik nanaman kaya nila ito ulit? gesh i hate HP

04-13-2010 01:29 AM Mine has this problem too! I purchased from Nov 2009 and start having problem April 2010. It is just 4 months after purchase, and screen flash all over the screen and then reducing to flashing over the task bar every 5 seconds!! 04-13-2010 09:44 PM Hey I have a problem quite similar , Bought a CQ40 like 5 months back worked fine.. And lately memory dump occured and I gave it to HP repair center , they replaced my memory..
Again dis occured and gave it back so these guys i think formated the entire HD or and gave it now da prob is worse I lately figured out dis wen i watch a movie.. Every time i put it full screen.. strange lines go all over da screen and , system dumps and restarts I cant watch a movie , use anything graphical Not even da media player for more dan 20mins .. I cant even install Windows .. da blue screen comes
Im sick of HP Using Windows 7... I dont play games in dis, vga is Intel 4500HD (not a gaming **bleep**) I use it 4 browsing , project work ,etc I gave dis laptop 4 da 3 third time to be repaired but prob not solved

04-13-2010 09:52 PM I agree with you... my laptop is HP 6530s... ive started used my laptop around nov 08 (company laptop).. it started to have problem aug 09 last year (screen flickering).. then i decided to send that faulty product to their service center that is located in Damansara.. ask them to check out on my laptop (still in warranty) but what im really quite annoyed is their own customer service officer.. i've told them to solved that problem (screen flicker) by the end of the week.. (my Boss want it to be solved on that week)
but guess what? they still didnt repaired my own laptop.. they said that the component for that laptop need to be ordered first..?? WTF?? i've gave them another chance.. on 2nd week i ask them again the same question... still...they've said the same word.. (still waiting??) & on 3rd week i've contacted them..AGAIN.. same FALSE promise.. at last i've inform my boss bout this.. & to my surprise.. the HP service worker inform us we can get that laptop by the end of that week (3rd week) they've solved that problem... but after i've used it for about 3-4 months.. the problem occured..AGAIN! (mac 2010).... & this time our laptop is out of warranty (warranty end date - Jan 2010) then Again im going to the HP service center.. & inform them bout our laptop... they said that they will try to take alook at it.. they then emailed me the repair Quatation for that product (on the next week).. & to my SURPRISE..for that LCD only..they've (will) charged me RM1400 + their service RM 123 WTF? if that the case better im buying another laptop!! Lesson Learned: on this day onwards i dont TRUST anymore HP product....

Im worried that they would drag dis til da warranty period is over.. Im goin for money back , I paid $680 to buy dis crap.. not worth

04-21-2010 09:53 AM I bought my HP CQ40 laptop in DEC 2009. (BELIEVING IN HP! HP FOR CRISSAKE!) I''m Currently staring at a BLACK STRIP OBSTRUCTING THE LOWER PART OF THE SCREEN since MARCH 2010 up until today and it is getting BIGGER! To make matters worse, I've come across this thread looking for a SOLUTION which HP DOES NOT PROVIDE. Instead, most of their service center personnel resort to DELAY TACTICS and STOP GAP SOLUTIONS which are INEFFECTIVE! I'm a busy man, and I'm sure most HP customers are. They better settle this problem for me and extend my warranty or I'll bring up this matter to the CONSUMER AFFAIRS of MALAYSIA.

05-08-2010 12:14 AM hi guys! i bought my compaq cq40 way back july 2009. After almost three and a half months, the lcd started to flicker (about 6 to 7 lines) and almost busted the taskbar. i brought it back to the local distributor here in the Philippines, and they said they will return it to the supplier for lcd replacement. After almost a month, the lcd was finally replaced... Thanks God because I'm using my laptop for work... After the replacement, the lcd was in good condition and i thought it will never have the same problem again. But after several months (almost 5 months), I encountered another problem with it's lcd. This time, no more flickering, but the defective lcd backlight ( i think so). There are particular angles that the laptop lid should be positioned. There are instances that the backlight suddenly shut down, and turn on, and shut down again. I brought it back once again to the local distributor for repair. The store representative said that they will return it again to the supplier for lcd replacement. Until now after a month, my computer was still in the hp service center and they are waiting for their ordered lcd cable to arrive. I'm really disappointed... I really need my computer now!...
