ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE

The Ateneo Student Exchange Council (ASEC) is an organization committed in the growth of its local and international members as ambassadors of their own culture. ASEC aims to give opportunities, both local and abroad, that strengthen a sense of national identity, cultural awareness, and intercultural dialogue. Through activities such as local trips and workshops, ASEC engages members in Filipino culture and creates avenues for social interaction that can promote cultural relativism. Finally, it aims to help in nation building by providing cultural and academic opportunities outside the organization.

The Department of Inbound Student Exchange is responsible for providing support and assistance to the international exchange students, and assisting them with their transition to life in the Ateneo and the Philippines. The department is also responsible for promoting the richness and diversity of the Philippines, and opportunities of inter-cultural interaction to the members. Main projects: Buddy System, Intramuros Tour

IV. HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (HR)


The department of Human Resources (HR) handles the recruitment, involvement, formation, and evaluation of ASEC's members. HR helps the organization in forming its members through various projects and efforts that encourage the members to interact, and train them in becoming ambassadors who embody ASEC's ideals. Main projects: First General Assembly, ASEC Christmas Party

The department of Outbound Student Exchange (OSE) is in charge of providing assistance to outbound Ateneo students. They are also responsible for the organization's correspondence with foreign embassies, as well as other international cultural organizations. In line with this, under OSE is the liaison for Alliance of International Student Organizations Philippines (AISO-PHIL). Main projects: Indonesia-Philippines Youth Cultural Exchange Program, Jumpstart! A Study Abroad Fair

OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS LIASION

(special position under the ISE department) The OIR Affairs Team is handled by the OIR Head Liaison, which coordinates with the university's Office of International Relations (OIR), in order to better assist in addressing the needs of the international exchange students (campus tours, housing, etc). Together with the ISE department, the team is also responsible for the organization's correspondence with the local cultural offices and organizations in coordinating functions and activities for international and local guests.

III. MARKETING AND FINANCE (M&F)

The department of Marketing and Finance (M&F) is responsible for managing and raising funds for the organization through fundraising projects. These funds are used to support the organization in sending members abroad through the organization's cultural exchange programs. Under this department is the ASEC Marketing Team, which markets ASEC's various projects to external institutions for sponsorships. Main Project: ASEC Town Square: Culture Market
