Jesus Did Not Heal the Sick

There have been many miracles ascribed to Jesus in the bible. When reading about some of the miracle healings I realized something. Jesus never healed any of the people that so many say that he healed. It seemed to me to be another case of people wanting to make the bible about the man rather than what he was teaching. Here is what I mean. In John 14:12 Jesus says anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the father. In this scripture Jesus was saying that any one who has faith in him (his teachings) will be able to do greater things than he did. He is telling the people of the day that they simply have to have faith and believe in what he was attempting to teach them.

Jesus did not have any special powers. He often was trying to relay to the people that he was just like them, a descendent of man. He often times called himself, (NIV) Son of Man, It has also been translated as the (NCMM)Son of Humankind. John 14:27 Jesus says, Do not work for food that spoils, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. In this scripture Jesus is saying work to feed your soul not just your stomachs, the food that will feed you for eternity, which he (a descendent of man) will give. As the Son of Man Jesus performed many healings. Or did he? Was it Jesus or the people healing themselves? In Matthew 9:21-22 the sick woman said, If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed. Jesus turned and saw her. He said, Take heart, daughter, YOUR FAITH (my emphasis) has healed you. And the woman was healed at that moment.

Matthew 9:28-30, when he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him and he asked them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? Yes, Lord, they replied. Then he touched their eyes and said, According to YOUR FAITH (emphasis added) will it be done to you; and their site was restored. In both these instances Jesus stated according to their faith they were healed. He did not do it himself. The implication is that the peoples belief that healing could occur was impetus for the healing. He did not perform the miracle, the peoples belief did. Jesus understood something then that science is just now coming to grips that our bodies have all it needs to heal. Greg Braden a philosopher and scientist says that it is our feeling and emotions that access what we call God. He describes emotions and feeling as a biological technology. We have all heard of someone who has heard of someone that was miraculously healed of a disease. In most of those instances the people believed that they could be healed and they had the faith that it could be done. Jesus knew this was possible. That is why he asked the blind men if they believed it could be done. He was attempting to teach us about the power we have to affect our world and our bodies. His teachings were not about him. It is very evident by science that people are able to heal themselves. Not just major diseases but the minor ailments to. There are specific ways to do this and Jesus taught this. Mark 11:24 Jesus says, Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. I have quoted this scripture before. It is paramount to us understand our world and how we can affect it. To say that Jesus did not heal anyone is not my attempt to demean him.I believe Jesus was a great teacher. It is simply me showing what I believe he wanted and that is for us to know our power, our magnificence! This also is not to say that you should stop taking medicines that your doctors have prescribed for you. I would however love for you to consider your power and start to think about who you really are. Who you really are is a soul having a human experience. Through your true self, your soul, you are tapped into the source from which we all come. You have the same power to create in this physical world that source did to create the universe. In the (NIV)Bible Jesus said 14:20 on that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Different interpretation of the same scripture in the (NCMM) says In that day you [apostles] will realize that I am in harmony with my Father, and you in harmony with me, and I in harmony with you [apostles]. The Father (source) is in us all. As a soul we can do great things. When we assume that we are only physical, we are limited in our thinking. Do not limit yourself with the doctrines that have been taught. God is not some grand being that sits on high looking over your shoulder. You reach source through prayer/meditation. When you do so you can connect and feel the awesome power! Jesus said you will be able to do greater things

than he. We have to be brave enough to believe what he taught. Not just with illness but in many areas of life that he was teaching. Learn the universal principles or laws, not the man made doctrine. You have it with in you. Are you a brave soul? Reginaldc is me @http://reginaldc.me
