There is but one solution been told for decimation of the entire problems faced by our country and the world at large. In present times, the world faces an increasing unemployment, unrest, war and terrorism. The main cause for this situation is the outward looking paradigm in life of humans. Our country has had emperors who have ruled for millions of years in Satyug etc. Those periods were peaceful and harmonious. They remained as prosperous times. Now, the world moves towards a dry spell. The water is physically drying up gradually. There is a steady decline in water tables of wells, farm bore wells, lakes and rivers. If this continues, the world shall surely face a famine. It has been foretold in the Raamayaan : Kali baarhi bar dukaal pare Binu ann dookhi sab log marein // (101 Uttarakhand) The ruling class will be scandalous and shall rob its subjects.

Nrip paap parayan dharm nahi / Kari dand vidamb praja nithi // (101 Uttarakhand) The one answer to all these problems is that it amply rains on earth. There is ample food and hence prosperous times. All this can culminate from yagya(a spiritual cleansing process involving sacrifice and charities). The best of all yagya is Naam yagya. Ironically, in Kalyug, Naam yagya has already been prescribed as the only path to salvationKrishnvarn Twishaakrishnan Saanghgopaardgaartrapaarsdadmn Yagyein Sangkeertanpraayeiyearnjanti hi sumedhsahn: // Shrimad Bhaagwata-11.5.32 Purport: In Kalyug, God adorns a dark complexion black. His body is self effulgent from all views like that of an emerald that constantly emits a bright aura all around itself. His personality comprises of a great chest, adorned with Kaustub and other gems, wielding weapons like sudarshan while accompanied with companions like Sunand etc. In Kalyug, those blessed with high intelligence propogate the lord with such yagyas which lay priority to Keertan of Naam, Goon, Leela etc. Kali sabhajayantyaryaa gudagyaan saarbhaaginah/ Yatra sangkeertanenav sarvah swaarthoarbhilbhyatay // (Shrimat Bhaagvat-11.5.36 ) Purport: In Kalyug only Sangkeertan accomplishes all material and spiritual needs. Hence, people with great deducing intelligence that realize the benefits of this yug, love and admire it. Yagya is the only way to bring in rains and hence prosperous times. Annadbhawanti bhootaani parjanyaadannsambhav :/ Yagyaadbhavti parjanyoa yagyah karmasamudbhavh : / Karma brahoadbhavn vidhi brahaaksharsamudbhavam / Tasmatsvargatah brahm nitya yagyay pratishitham // ( Shrimad Bhagvat Gita 3-14,15 ) All living beings emanate from grains. Grains originate due to rains while rains are caused by yagyas and yagyas yield results only when actions are performed within the prescribed deeds of scriptures. One should consider the realm of karma (action) a produce of Vedas whiles Vedas an emanation from the indestructible Supersoul. Thus, it is proven that Yagya forms a permanent base for the omni-present, supreme, infinite Super Soul, God. If all this was not true, then only evil would spread on earth. People would only enliven evil and all their actions would be devilish. Yagyshishtashin santo muchyantay sarva kilbishay Bhugjatay te twandh papa ye pachntyatmkarraat (Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta 3-13)

The elevated one who eats the leftovers of Yagya is released of all sinful bondages while the sinful one who cook meals merely to sustain his body simply earn sins. Evan pravirtith chakra naanuvartytih yah / Agaghaayurindriyaaraamoa moagh paarth sa jeevati // (Shrimad Bhagvat Geeta 3-16) O Paarth !, One who does not behave in accordance to the prevalent cycle of nature received by us in succession or in other words does not live up to his responsibilities, lives a life of little use like that of a being who lives purely engrossed in sense attachment and hence, sin. Hence, Naam Yagya is essential because kalyug kewal naam adhaara Even Bhakti is not possible in the age of kali, leave alone Karma, dharma and others. Nahi kali karma, na bhakti bibeku / Raam Naam avlambaneku // Kaalnemi kali kapat nidhaanu / Naam sumati samrath Hanumaanu // Kalyug represents Kaalnemi while Raam Naam represents Hanuman Ji who eliminated Kaalnemi. In other words, all negative attributes of Kaliyug will be eliminated by Raam Naam. Kalyug represents Hiranyakashyapoo while the Chanting one represents Bhakt Prahalaad. Raam Naam nar Kesri, Kanak kasipoo kali kaal / Jaapak jan prahalaad jimi, Palihi dali sursaal // Hiranyakashyapoo had asked for a boon that his life be not be vulnerable under any circumstances be day or night, land or sky, neither human, nor demigod, householder, sage may slay him. In other words he simply may not die. In fact, it is mentioned in a particular scripture that he had wished that if ever he bleeds, every drop falling on earth should raise hundreds of more Hiranyakashyaps. Similarly, Kalyug had wished that the one who wishes to pierce me arrows of knowledge & detachment, finds my potencies unbearable. This is why Bhakti,s sons Gyan & Vairag ( knowledge & detachment ) turned into withered men and were healed only by God. Why not use Naam chanter,s tounge represnting the fabled pillar to produce Naam personifying Narsimha and wipe out Hiranyakashyap,s kingdom. This is only possible through Naam Sangkeertan. No matter how awful a situation is, Bhagwat Naam resolves it all. Aapanna sansriti ghoaraa yannam vivshow grihan / Tattah sadhyo vimuchyat yadibibhaiti swaya bhayam // ( Shrimad Bhagwatam 1.1.14 ) Purport: The living being is entrapped in the dense circle of life & death, yet if it ever is able to chant the omni potent name of Lord, that very moment he stands delivered because Fear itself fears God almighty. // 14 // At a time that the world appears to hold a bleak future-

Asprishyaanavalokyayn sheshbharkari dhara / Varshay varshay kramaajjaata mangalm naapi drishyate// ( Shrimad Bhagvat Mahatmya 1-59 ) Consistently, every year Shesh Ji feels the increase of weight of earth. In present times, it is not worth looking at, leave alone touch. It does not present even a single sight of nobility and piety. Krishna Keertan accomplishes work untenable by tapasya (penance) , yog (mastery over self), or samadhi ( mastery over mind). Yatfallam naasti tapsaa na yogain samaadhina / Tatfallam labhtay samyakallow Keshavkeertanaat ( Shrimad Bhagvat Mahatmya 1-68 ) Cause the fruit that Shri Hari Keertan can surely and easily bestow, tapasya, yog, samaadhi cannot. What tapasya, dhyaan, yagya, pooja etc can deliver can be bestowed by Naam Keertan very easily. Kritay yad dhyaato Vishnu traytaayaan yajtoa makhay / Dwaaparye parichayaryan kaloy tadhrikeertanaat // ( Shrimad Bhagvat 12-3-52 ) Whatever is achievable by meditating on the lord in Satyug, by appeasing the lord by large sacrificial ceremonies in Treta yug or by doing devotional service in accordance to scriptural directives in Dwaapar yug can easily be obtained by Naam Keertan in Kalyug. All bad aspects of Kalyug have been described vividly in the third adhyaay of twelfth skandhNityamudhignmnso durbhikshkarakshritaa:/ Nirannay bhutalay raajnnavristibhyatota:// ( Shrimad Bhagvat 12-3-39 ) Dear Parakshit, in Kalyug, due to drought conditions subjects turn fearful and impulsive. The drought on one hand and the increasing taxation by rulers, the common man is reduced to bare skeletons physically and intensely anguished mentally. It becomes difficult to obtain a piece of bread for survival. All these troubles are surely decimated with Krishna KeertanKalaydoshrshnidhay raajnnasti hyoko mahaan gun:/ Keerttanadev Krishnsya muktasang param vrajait // ( Shrimad Bhagvat 12-3-51 ) Parakshit, although Kalyug is a treasure of negativities, it houses an extremely big attribute. In Kalyug, mere sangkeertan of Lord Shri Krishna has the potency to free one of all attachmrnts and unite him with Lord Almighty. One need not worry from the evil aspects of Kalyug. Naam Keertan gets one an even more beautiful deliverance than that of other yugas.

Kriyadishu praja raajan kalaavichnti sambhavam / Kalao khaloo bhavishyanti narayanparayanaa :// ( Shrimad Bhagvat 11-5-38 ) It has been clearly stated in the Padam PuraanGokotidaan grihanayshu Kaashi Maaghe Prayaage yadi kalpwasi / Yagyaautam merusuwarndaanan Govind naamna na bhavait cha tulyam // Even if one donates billions of cows during a lunar eclipse which is practically impossible, it holds no parallel then giving away one Govind naam. Even ten thousand vedic yagyas cannot equal it, nor can giving away sumeru, the mountain of gold. Hence, all should rob such infinite piety available with no costs, without much ado. Let us all make the world spiritually prosperous. Bhajo re bhaaya Raam Govind Hari Jap tap saadhan kachu nahi laagat kharchat naah gathree/ Santati sampati such ke kaaran jaaso bhool pari / Kabir ja much Raam na , vaa much dhoor pari //

Naivodvijay par duratyayavaitradyastvaduigargayan .. maha.. mrtmgnachit : shochay tato vimukhchetas indrinyarth mayasukhj bharmudhhato vimudan (Shri Bhagwatan 07.09.1943). Lord, though it is difficult for others to cross over this material ocean, I am not least bit scared. This being so cause my heart chit is not involved in the material world and rather dwells in your transcendental pastimes, a nectars which is infinitely superior to heavenly nectars. I feel sorry for such foolish living entities, who carry the entire earths burden on their heads merely to fulfill their longings for sensual pleasures which are only illusionary. In doing so, they ignore your holy names, attributes and salutations. II43II Pranaid dev mangah svavimuktikama money charanti vijnay na pararthrishtah I naita nivhay kripna naui mumu ksh eko nariya tvadasya sharam bhramastsyau nupushyay (Shri Mat Bhagwatam 07.09.1944). Such devotees become special candidates of gods mercy Suayari samuttirya sudustaran dhuman bhavarnvan bhimmadbhrasauhridah I bhavtpadambh oruhana vamatra tai nidhay yatah sadanugraho bhavan II 31 II (Shrimat Bhawatam 10.02.31). O supreme effulgence, representing lord, your devotees are true well wishers and are truly compassionate towards the entire world. They are not only able to cross over the dreadful and painstakingly overcome material world but also create a boat of your lotus feet for others to be delivered. Actually, you are greatly benevolent towards noble beings. To them, you lord, are benevolence personified. II31II No other devotee can be dearer than him.

Ya idam paramam gyhyam Mad-bhalitesu abhidhsyati Bhaktim mayi param krtua Mom evaisyaty asamsayah (Gita-18/68) When, those beings who have developed utmost love towards me, import this secretive knowledge of Gita to my devotees, they attain me surely, there is no doubt. Na cha tasman manusyesu Kasscin me priya-krttamah Bhavitaa na ca me tasmaad An yah pritataro bhuvi There is none other dearer to me than him amongst those humans offering devotional service to the and there shall be none in the future too. II69II One, who utters the Lords Names loudly, in an announcing fashion, cleanses the entire world . Yannaam griihannakhitaan shrotrinaatmanamaiv ca Sadhyah punaati kim bhuyastsya spristah padaa hi tai (Sh. Bhagwatam 10/34/17) O one who is eternal and constantly absorbed in his eternal self, the fact that I have been liberated from the curses of Brahman by your mere appearance is not surprising, because even they are purified who merely hear the lords names uttered by a devotee who is being purified himself by chanting. Moreover, I have been touched by the lotus feet of yourself. How can there be a doubt? II17II A Chandal low born is purified to a Brahmin high born level upon merely hearing of the Lords Names. This is why even a chandal who takes part in Keertan is worship worthy as Keertan singing a chanting of Lords Names encompasses all good acts like meditation, sacrifices , pilgrimages, good attitudes, Vedic knowledge etc. Yannaamdhey shrawanaanukirtanaad yatprahavanaa dhatsmaranaa dapi kvachit. Swaado-pi sanghah savenaay kalpatay kitah punastay bhagwan udagwan udarshanaat II (Sh. Bhagwatan 3/33/6) O, Lord, when a low born chandal who eats dog meat can be transformed to a worship worthy high class Brahmin by merely hearing, uttering your names or even causally praising or remembering you, then if one is said to have fulfilled all there is to fulfill by merely having been blessed by your appearance, what is surprising ? II6II Ahua bat suapaco-tao gariyaan yajjchvaagrey vartatey naam tubhyam tepustapastei juhuvuh sasnuraaryaa braahnu cunaarma grinanti ye te II (Sh. Bhagwatam 3/33/7) A low born is all superior to these when your names are ever prevalent on the tip of his tongue. Alleviated beings who utter you names accomplish all austerities, sacrifices, pilgrimages, righteousness and vedadhyam scriptural reading etc. The essence of Sh. Bhagwatam in the end sums up as follows:-

Naam sanngkirtanamm yasy sarvapaap pranaashana Pranaaman dukhshamari astamm namaami harim param II (Sh. Bhagwatam-12/13/23) I pay salutations to the same super soul, - Sh. Hari the utterances and singings of whose names destroys sins in totality. Self surrender and salutations to whose feet brings peace over all sorrows. II23II In its essence, the Ramaayan too says that even the most fallen souls get instantly purified by the Lords Names . Paai na kehin gati patit paavan Raam bhaji sunu sath manaa I Ganikaa ajaamil byaadh giidh Gajaadi khal taaray ghanaa II Aabhir jaman kiraat khas Saupacaadi ati agh ruup jay I Kahi naam baarak tepi paawan Hoi raam namaami te II130II Sh. Ramanuj Swami, who was given a secrete Guru Mantra (Chant) chose to climb up a city gate and chant it aloud even as his Guru tried to stop him. His Gurudev insisted that if he did not follow his order, he would surely fall to hell. Sh. Ramanuj Swami declared he would rather go to hell if it helped fellow living entities attain liberation. This compassion for fellow beings prompted his Guru-Sh. Gaushthipurn to embrace him and say that it is impossible for a being with such kindness at heart, to go to hell. The Guru immediately declared that Sh. Ramanuj Swami has no longer his pupil, but his lord, his master and his Guru. He embrace Sh. Ramanuj calling him Mannaath Mannaath. It was Narsinih Caturthi that day. Roughly, 72 or 74 people attained Siddhi which means they turned into proven pure devotees. This is mentioned by Sh. Naabhaji and Priyaadasji in the Bhaktamaal as follows: Sahas aasya updesh kari jagat udhaaran jatan kiyo II Gopur whai aarun uch suar mantra ucaaryo II Suutagi nar paray jaagi vahttari shravnanii dhaaryoII Titnai gurudev padhati bhaii nyaarii nyaarii I Kurutaarak shiishya pratham bhakti vapu mudanngalkarii. Krshnaa himself, used to go begging for Krasnaa Naam alongwith his associates. In essence, he made everyone utter and chant the lords names. Sh. Nityaanad, Mahaaprathu, Haridaas Thakur etc even suffered physically wounds while organizing Nagar-kritans. They were roughed up in 22 market places and yet kept the kirtan-pheris going for deliverance of living entities. Pashu Pakshi Kit Bhring bowlitai na paarai, Shuni lai hari Naam Taara sub tarai I Worms, spiders, flies, mosquitoes and infinite living entities that do not have faith in the power of lords names, detest the use of microphone in Kireetan. The strength of Lords names is infallible. It also purifies objects which are in the lowest state of consciousness, rigid and senseless. Haridas ji said Toomi jay kariach oocha sankeertan Sthaavar jungmair sei hoy tay shrawan Shoonitay jungmair hoy sansaar chaaya Sthaavar shay shobd laagay tatay pratidhwanee hoy Protidhwanee nahay sei kariya sankeertan (Antay Leela 3/66,64-65.1/2) When you sing keertan loudly, sthaavar (non-moving entities like tree, vegetation) and jungmair (moving entities like animals, insects etc) both are able to hear to Hari Naam. .Jungmair are able to overcome the world by listening to sankeertan. However, the very sound of keertan that is reflected by sthaavars( plants, foliage etc ) turns into their keertan and delivers them. Kavitt Hatyaa kari vipr ek, Tirath kari aago, kahai much raam, bhiksha daariyai hatraaray kaw. As a ritual rule he uttered Ram while begging saying Ram Ram, a murderer comes to beg. Goswami Ji, on hearing Lords names from the murders mouth, ushered him to his home thus purifying him and then served him meals while sitting close to him. This irked the pandit community of Kashi who called an assembly where Goswami Ji was summoned and questioned how the murderer was considered sin free without any atonement. Goswami spoke in clear terms- you have read the Shastras but have not tried to realize its depts., hence it is difficult to remove the ignorance in you hearts. Dekhi pothi barich, naam mahimaa kuri kahi maach, aipay hatya kare kaisainn tarai keh diijia? Aavai jo pratiti kaho kehi gaakai naath jaivaynn shivju ko Bail tab pangat mein lijigai. johonn pan kiyoa bolai aap naam akii prataap mati bhiijiata I jaisi tum jaano taisi kaise kaii hakhaano aho sanikai prasann paayoa, jai jai dhini vijiiai II475II Purport- The pandits of Kashi, on be explained, accepted the relevance of Lords Names but still chose to look for its proofs. Goswamiji agreebly told them to do whatever satiated their hearts. They, then, on further thoughts laid a precondition that if Shivjis bullock (Nandi) accepted prashad (Food offered to lord), from his hands they would not hesitate to dine with him as a mark of acceptance. Sh. Tulshidaas ji agreed. He carried the dish of Prashad to Nandi and spoke-kindly accept this Prashad from this persons hands by relishing your thoughts with lord Rams name. Upon hearing this, Nandi very happily accepted the prashad from his hands. This made the pandits believe in the power Lords Names. They hailed lord Ramchandra and praised Sh. Tulshidaas Ji conviction. This is how every person should organize Keertan-pheri which is not only for self-upliftment, fellow beings upliftment, social upliftment, or Indias upliftment but for the good of entire universe. In between these Kirtan pheris, faith building couplets should be recited which arouse spiritual feelings. Hymns, explaining the transient nature of universe, the true name chanting and benefits of renunciations should be recited too. A collection, for those who can grasp them is as follows:Probhu Kohe jaar mukhay shuuani ekbaar I Krssna naam pujya sei srestha shobaakaar II107II Ek krsna naame kore sarupaapkhoy I Non-vidh Bhakti poorn naam haite hoi II108II Dikshapurscyarvidhi apeksha naa kare I Jivvgyasproshay aachaandaal sobhaaray ubhaarai II109II Aanushdhariy plolai kore sansaarer kshoy. Chit aakorshinga kore krsna premodoy II110II Sh. Mahaprabhu Ji said He, whose mouth utters Krishna Naam once, is a vaishnava and is worship worthy and even the superior most. Krishna Naam alone destroys all sins. Navvidha bhakti (shravan heavy, kritanChantiay, Smaran-remembrance, pad-sevan, archan, vandan, dasya sahya, atma nivedan) can only be complete with Krishna Naam. Sh. Krsnaa Naam does not necessitate Deeksha (counseling / Instructions) on puuraashcharan (sacrifice-ritual). The riddance of worldly bondages is a secondary fallout o Lords Names . A mere touch of lords name by ones tongue purifies as low a living being as a chandaal (person with demonic nature). The true fruit of Krsnaa Naam is Krsnaa prem (love for krsnaa). Sh. Krsnaa Naam attracts one heart towards Sh. Krsnaa and then even arouses that prem (love). Ramaayan (Bal Kanda) Jaan adikabi naam pratapu I Bhayu sudh kari ulta jaapu II19-5II Sh. Vaalmiki Ji, the eternal poet truly knows the glories of lords names as he was purified even by chanting it the wrong way Maraa maraa instead of Raam Raam.

At the time of samudra Manthan (churning of ocean, a deadly poison appeared and began to destroy the entire creation. An assembly of Demi-Gods approached Lord Shiva who then collected the all engulfing poison on his palm and drank it to save the worlds. As mentioned in the Nandi Puraan, following are Nandeshwars words: Shrinudhwaribhognaa svasvarvay Raam Naam Parambalam Yatprasaadaann mahadevo Haalhalmay pibait The deadly poison turned into nectar. Here, one of Lords names potency is being presentedimmediate crushing of initial resistance. In simple words Lords Names do miracles like turning opponents into supporter and critics into believers. Truly speaking, what is this deadly poison brings talked about. This poison has as all pervading effect on material creation. Once, the Lord had appeared in the sixth manvantra as Lord Ajit. A war was on then between the Demi-Gods and the demon community (asur). Lord Vishnu had presented Durvasa Rishi a garland, prasadam who then gave it to Demi-God, Indra who was on his way to the battle field seated on his elephant Airaawat. Indra placed that garland on Airaawats head. He, however, crushed it under his jeet. Durvasa, on seeing this, cursed him that he loose all his goodness, fortune, glory and the aura occupied by him. This made the worlds above, beneath and between loose their goodness, fortunes and glories. All good acts, divine acts of sacrifice, righteousness and virtues came to a halt. The world turned essence-less. All of this constitutes the poison being talked about. The society has social flaws like- animosity, faith / religious flaws like antinationalism, destruction, rebellion, terrorism etc and political flaws like,-corruption, injustice, bad governance, anarchy, etc. Similarly, numerous other flaws make the world go astray. Simply put the world looses it Shri ie- goodness, fortune and glories. This is that same poison kaalkuut vish, only after the destruction of which does nectar erupt. As long as this poison is not destroyed, Amrit (Nectar-which given eternity) can not be produced. This is what had happened during Samudra Mathan- The churning of ocean. The very same poison, be it political, social or religious is spreading all over the globe today. It can only be destroyed by Bhagwat Naam (Lords Names). This is being said in the following choupai. This is what Lords Shiva demonstrated. He converted the deadliest of all poison into nectar which makes one immortal. He truly knows what glories of Bhagwat naam (Lords Names) holds. This is why Jane Shiv niiko was mentioned. It is impossible for contemporary beings to comprehend this enigma. If only the Lords name is used in present times, all prevalent poisons can be converted into immortality nectars. Naam prabhaav jaan Shiv Niko I Kaalkuut Falu dinh ami ko II19-8II Lord Shiva very well realizes the glory of Lords Names and it (Lords name) made the deadly poison switch its affect to a life giving nectar.
