Dear Parents: Happy Fall to all our Apple Tree families! The School Year has gotten off to a great start. Thank you to all the families for your support on all the fundraisers. Congratulations we raised more than $7000. Again, Apple Tree families have pulled together to support enrichment projects that benefit our children. Thank you for being so very generous. Beautification day was a big success, enjoyed by children, parents and staff. We really put our hearts into making Apple Tree a beautiful place. Soon we will be in the midst of the Holiday Season. Students will be learning about many different types of celebrations. Please feel free to share your cultural celebration with your childs class. Whether you celebrate Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Ramadan, Christmas or something unique to your family, we wish you a safe and joyful season!

Report Cards ????


Ms. Levine

On the week of November 28th to December 2nd, our PTO will be sponsoring an important Food Drive for the local community. We will be asking families to donate as many nonperishable items as possible (i.e. canned fruits and vegetables, cereals, peanut butter, tuna, etc.). The food collected will be distributed among the local food banks, that are currently experiencing a shortage due to the economic impact. The food will be collected by classroom and will be weighed everyday. The classroom that reaches the highest weight will win the Food Drive and will enjoy a well deserved Ice Cream Party! Please join the PTO in their efforts to make this event one that will benefit those in need. Thank you for your support!

On the week of November 14th thru the 16th, each classroom will be holding the annual Apple Harvest Exploration, prior to celebrating Thanksgiving. Teachers will be sending information home with your child, prior to the date with specific details about the exploration.

Barnes & Noble night


On Thursday, November 17th from 4:007:00 pm, the PTO will be hosting a family-friendly night devoted to books and coffee. The Barnes & Noble located at Pembroke Gardens will accommodate that night to welcome the great Apple Tree families. Books, music, coffee and sweet treats will be available for purchase. A percentage of all sales at the store will go towards the Teacher Appreciation Week. Come and join the PTO!

PTO Meeting
On Wednesday, November 9th at 8:30 am. in the school library, the PTO will be proposing and voting on events funded by the PTO for the remainder of the school year. This is a great opportunity to ask questions regarding the activities, the PTO sponsors, and also a great way to get more involved. The PTO will be glad to see you there.

Fall Camp
On November 21st and 22nd, Apple Tree will be opened for those who need childcare or need to make up work. Attendance will not be taken on those days. Please let the front office know if your child will come to school on one or both days. Have a great Thanksgiving !

WINTER BREAK

Holiday Party
Apple Tree children will be having a Holiday Party on December 15th or 16th in their respective classrooms. Teachers will be sending further information prior to the celebration. The party will be only for students. No goodie bags, etc please.

Apple Tree will be closing December 22nd until Monday, January 2nd, 2011 for Winter Break. December 20th & 21st Apple Tree will be open for those parents needing childcare. Attendance will NOT be taken on these days. All necessary class work will be completed by Friday, December 16th. Classes resume Tuesday, January 3rd. Please note that, the due date for tuition in January will be on January 6th. . BI-ANNUAL tuition will also be due at that time...you may mail in your check over the Holidays or make payment in December . Have a safe and Happy Holiday Season!

On Thursday, November 17th, Photo Retakes will be taking place. Please send the retake order form prior to the date, so that your child can get her/his new picture taken.

Apple Tree will be open for those families who will need childcare. We will be open at the usual times from 7:30 am. until 6:00 pm. Please let the office know the days and times your child/children will be needing childcare.
